Our Heart For This Album:
"The Lord will have His inheritance"...these words first hit me while prayer walking our neighborhood. We live in an inner-city area bombarded by poverty and crime. Our neighborhood is filled with abandoned houses and broken people. There is a cry in God's heart to see these things restored. As we seek the Lord for His heart for our city, we begin to see it through His eyes. Instead of poverty, there is abundance. Instead of captivity, there is freedom. We have devoted our lives to seeing our city awakened to the heart of the Father. These songs have been written from this place. We want to declare that Jesus will have His inheritance in our city, but even larger than that. The issues in our city are all over the world. There is a solution for all of these problems, however. When we see God for who He really is, the only response we can give Him is full surrender. And it's when we give up our lives that we can see who we are in His eyes.
We have wanted to record our own albums for a long time. A friend of ours suggested that Candice and I create an album together. We were both very excited about this idea. For the past several months we have been writing and working on arrangements. We cannot wait to share these songs with you!
The cost of the album includes paying our producer and buying CDs. We would love to have your support for this project. We are very thankful for whatever amount you feel led to give.
Who We Are
There is a ministry in the heart of downtown Macon, called Awakening Fires, whose mission is to bring God's presence to the hard places through prayer, praise, and intercession. Several families have moved to the neighborhood to invest our lives in this mission. I (Blane Dunnam) have spent the past two years as an intern with this ministry. My sister, Candice Emerson, lives just down the street with her husband and baby girl. We are two of many worship leaders at Awakening Fires. We are recording our album at East Gate Studios, which operates out of our ministry. We are both featured on the album Songs for the City, East Gate's first production. You can hear some of our songs from that album here:

Candice and I grew up in a family with musical giftings, and we have been singing since we were very young. Our parents have been involved in music and worship our entire lives. Both of us have a deep passion for music. It has been a great way for us to release creativity and emotion. There is something powerful about making music that people can feel. Our desire is to release a sound that changes the atmosphere.
Risks and challenges
We are currently recording the album. We have finished one song, and we are currently working on two others. We will be recording eight or nine more songs. Our schedule is limited on this project since both of us have jobs, but we have scheduled evenings to work in the studio. We apologize if there is any delay, but we are working hard to be finished by February of 2018.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
