My Motivation For Creating The Character
I came up with Delilah Blast in 2010 after listening to a Do Something by Britney Spears and Science by System Of A Down. Once the idea was sparked I spent a lot of time to develop the character because I felt like at the time there was a huge lack of strong female characters, that depended mainly on their wits. After I mapped out the story I wanted to make it all ages because at the time there weren't many all ages comics besides Tiny Titans and Billy Batson and Power of Shazaam.
I met Joel on Digital Webbing, he agreed with my feelings. The 2 of us talked to spent time crafting a world that has elements of steampunk, 50's scifi and post apocalyptic genres.
We let a few sites get an advance copy to review. Here is what they had to say:
"This awesome new comic draws you in with a little bit of mystery and hooks you with the delightfully spunky main character. She bunks the rules and owns her smarts with no apologies as she takes charge in this intriguing, futuristic world." Bess Goden of Steampunk Parliament
"Delilah Blast is a fun, look at life where science is key to the future of the planet. With Delilah really showing the reader she cares for what she’s trying to do." Kevin Hamilton of Geekery Magazine
"The world created and introduced to the reader in the early section of the book is vibrant and fascinating. Looking like a mash-up of high fantasy, science-fiction and steampunk it begs to be looked at in detail." Jay Brown of Comic Sleuth
" This is the future of science fiction, action/adventure and fantasy comics all rolled up into one book. Exciting, fresh and incredibly well done from top to bottom, start to finish this is going to remind you why you love comic books!" Reading With A Flight Ring
"The character seem to leap off the page and into your imagination as people you just meet full of personality in all the right and appealing ways." Rob Andersin of Creators Of Written Sins
