What is Weekend in Vegas?
Weekend in Vegas is competitive strategy game where you and your friends compete for the best weekend. Where players will try to have as much fun as possible with their limited finances. You will have to out think, out maneuver and out gamble your friends in order to come out on top. Will you end up as a high roller and bring home the bacon? or end up penniless wandering the streets in search of a quarter. You never know what will happen when you and your friends get together.
Players set their own game length we recommend a short game which is around 4 to 7 objectives completed: a longer game is 8 or more objectives completed. Once one player has completed the set number of objectives everyone else has one more turn to complete what they can. With limited time and resources players will have to get creative with how they will get all their objectives done. Gambling becomes your motivation in order to obtain more funds to keep the fun rolling and even if you don’t win at the tables you still might get comped and comps are sometimes as good as cash!
Entertainment points are awarded from accomplishing objectives. Seeing shows, partying at the clubs, eating at exotic restaurants, riding the thrill rides and even getting married. Almost anything you do in Weekend in Vegas will get you Entertainment points as long as you can pay for it.
A simple game at first but as players start to understand the dynamics of the game the complexity starts to show. A delicate balancing act between cash, time and energy players will need to be vigilant and pay close attention to not only themselves but the other players as well in order to come out ahead.

Players can create the board into any shape they like. Different board layouts can create a more challenging game. The way Weekend in Vegas is setup it's truly a different game every time you play it. Players must be vigilant every turn since anyone can affect the game at any time.
These are just a few ways you can set your board up. There are 100's of ways. This is just with the main game.

Weekend in Vegas all in version By hitting all the stretch goals you could unlock all the expansions and the game will be 25 hotels with 4 objective cards for each hotel so a total of 96 Objective cards, 52 Gaming cards, 64 comp cards, 1 roulette / comp wheel, 2 crap table mats, 3 slot dice, 6 Cocktail / slots Tiles, 12 character cards, and Mini Poker Chips.

This is what the board could look like with all stretch goals reached.

The gaming deck was designed for fast gameplay and yet also for making the game easier to learn. The gaming deck will assist players who are not familiar with traditional gambling games. The Gaming Deck teach the basic rules for each gambling session to be played. Each gaming card contains a Poker Hand, Blackjack hand, Roulette spot with color and number and Craps numbers that must be hit before the player craps out.

The objective deck contains all there is to see and do in Vegas. They are the main source for scoring entertainment points. The more you complete the better chance you have to win the game. There are 4 types of objective cards to complete Shows, Dining, Nightclubs and Attractions. Each hotel in Weekend In Vegas has number of objectives to complete.

The comp cards are one of the unique parts of Weekend in Vegas. They are used in 3 special ways. The first way they may be used is as currency to pay for objectives instead of cash. The second way they can be used is as they are intended by just reading the card and following the directions. And and finally use is by using them to unlock a character's special ability. In order to obtain comp cards you will have to gamble. However, you might not always receive a comp from doing so.

The Players card keeps track of your energy level with the water bottle on the left side. You will place your bet on the upper left side when you gamble. You will also keep your comps on this card on the upper right side. The lower right hand side you have a references to help you throughout the game.

Stretch goals are exclusive to Kickstarter, How ever we would like everyone to experience Weekend in Vegas the way that we meant it to be played. The stretch goals that get unlocked will help make the expansion packs for the game that will sell in the retail stores at a later date, which will unlock for other customers later on as additional expansion packs. There will be no additional cost for Kickstarter backers you will get all the expansions that are unlocked with the amount that you pledged. The more people we get the more expansions we will be able to offer you. We would love to provide mini poker chips in to every Kickstarter backer game, in order to do this we will need a lot of backers.

The Addition of 4 New hotels and 16 objective cards allows players to expand the game board as well add new objectives to complete. It also increases the difficulty slightly since there is more ground to cover.

The playable characters add a new dimension to the basic game. Each character has their own unique abilities that allows players to try out different strategies in order to come out ahead.

The Mini Poker Chips will be custom made for weekend in vegas. The poker set will be mini size 7 gram poker chips. The diameter of each poker chip is approximately 25.5mm versus standard size 39mm poker chips. We feel that paper money is just bad for any game especially a vegas themed game. So we would love for you to recieve these poker chips for your copy.
We would like to sell them later on our website but there will be a Premium Price for them later on. So you can get them for a huge discount now when stretch goal is hit.
Thank you
I just want to thank a few people for there advise and help. First is Richard Bliss with his podcast Funding the dream I have gotten a lot of valuable info from him and the guest he has interviewed. And I would also like to Thank Jamey Stegmaier for his blog if you are going to run a Kickstarter campaign you must check out his blog. We have used a lot of what he said in our own Kickstarter so thank you.

Risks and challenges
Our biggest obstacles is getting enough backers so we can make Weekend in Vegas the way we wanted to be seen. We wanted to use poker chips in the game as the currency but we need lots and lots of people to get the cost down for the poker chips to be used in every game. We will be going with a mini clay poker chip and not a full size. That way we can get poker chips in all the games.
This is our first Kickstarter campaign so it is a learning experience for us. Our goal is to get Weekend in Vegas in the hands of all of our backers by the end of Holiday Season. This doesn't give us much time to spare. However, we do not expect delays in production. Manufacturing or shipping issues that are out of our control may arise, but that is the risk with any game.
There is always the possibility that unforeseen circumstances can cause a game to run past its estimated ship date. Should this be the case, I will be open and up front with my backers via frequent updates.
