"While fixing a circuit on Level 4, Junction 8b, I suddenly lost power. When I awoke I was filled with newfound knowledge of the power facility. Its history, its inhabitants and its dark secrets. I felt the sudden, uncontrollable urge to destroy the very facility which I'd spent my life protecting." -- AAIMIE
The Game
AAIMIE leads a simple life. She is a maintenance robot on Power Facility #38. Her daily routine includes maintaining the
facility, wiring, energy conduits and general repair. Her artificial
intelligence routines allow her to perform her job without any outside
influence. She is completely autonomous and free to roam the facility.
That is, until one day, while performing general maintenance,
life as she knew it was turned upside down. After a brief power outage,
she awoke to find that she was no longer restricted to knowledge of
simple maintenance. Her memory banks were now filled with classified
inside information on the power plant, its residents, its security
systems, its weak points, and most importantly, an uncontrollable urge
to destroy the facility. So how did this happen? Who implanted this knowledge and why? These are all questions that AAIMIE will have to figure out.
Gameplay
AAIMIE is a grid-based, first person point of view role playing
indie game being developed for release on PC, Mac,
ios and Android in 2013. It has been described as “Tron Meets Grimrock”
with an emphasis on exploration and puzzle solving.
You play as AAIMIE just after her A.I. was altered, resulting in
her desire to destroy the facility. AAIMIE starts as a simple
maintenance bot with only a welding torch and basic navigational
components. Through exploration, puzzle-solving and combat she gains
weapons, armor and component upgrades.
Although there is combat in the game, the main focus is
exploration, discovery of new areas, scripted events, puzzle solving and
story telling. You will become part of the world, and discover all it
has to offer.
Why Back AAIMIE?
I have been wanting to develop AAIMIE for several years now. However, as a single developer it is difficult to create this kind of game from scratch. Several factors have changes this lately. No matter how big or small the game, it takes money to create. There are licenses, artwork, sound effects, music, etc needed even for small indie games. Kickstarter has allowed people like myself to raise funds needed to cover these costs.
By backing AAIMIE, you are providing the means to purchase these assets and licenses and make AAIMIE a reality.
Its been my dream to create this game. With my development experience, long background with role playing games, and your backing, this project will be a success!
Your Rewards
So what's in it for you? Take your pick of all the rewards on the right hand side of the screen. I've tried to provide a wide variety of rewards to choose from. If you simply want the game when it's released, the $15 reward is for you. If you want special items that will be exclusive to Kickstarter backers, then choose a little higher level to get these extra perks.
I realize that some people just want swag, but others want a creative hand in the game. The higher level rewards are for the creative types that want hands-on access to the game creation.
I am personally most excited about the "design" rewards. You and I will work together to create weapons, components, levels and enemies. They will appear in-game and you will be created with their design. This is very exciting to have your creations be a part of a real game.
Progress So Far
The storyline is complete, along with a good portion of the enemy design, weapons, components, armor, puzzles, and the complete prototype. There are several videos on youtube showing off the progress of the game. They can be found under the Media section of the AAIMIE website.
We are hoping for Kickstarter funding in order to pay for licenses for the Unity3d engine, along with assets such as art, 3d models and marketing.
Meet The Developer
AAIMIE is an indie game being developed by a single developer, James Sablatura. I
was hooked on role playing computer games since I first played
“Alternate Reality” in 1985. Since then I have played virtually every
rpg ever created for the PC. Games such as Might And Magic, Wizardy,
Ultima Online, Arx Fatalis, Elder Scrolls, Dungoen Master, just to name a
few. They have all influenced the creation of AAIMIE.
I have
over 25 years experience in software development, with a Masters degree
in computer science. I have created dozens of games over the years. Two
popular ones called Scavenger Hunt, which can currently be found on
Facebook, and Puzzle Zone which is an iOS game currently in the Apple
Store.

Conclusion
I am SO excited to be a part of Kickstarter and I would absolutely love to have your backing. The funds received will go 100% towards the game and I can't wait to finish making it.
It has been my dream to make this game. I have created many games that have given me the creative and technical knowledge to make this game happen. And with your backing this game will become a reality.
Lastly, before you go, would you mind "Liking" this Kickstarter above and telling your friends about it to spread the word?
Thank you once again...
