About this project
With much success on our first stein, the Krampus Stein, we bring you our second endeavor. Number One Bigfoot Stein! This stein has an extremely detailed relief rendition of Mitch O'Connell's Awesome Father and Child Bigfoot print. Like our Krampus stein the Bigfoot stein comes in 2 Styles, Painted Style and Raw Style. Bigfoot's Fathers Day Stein is 10 1/2 inches tall and holds 1 liter of your favorite brew. The fitted lid helps keep out unwanted squirrels and falling acorns, a must have for any wilderness treking beer lover.
We've standardize the flat lids to cut costs down and speed up the overall production on future projects. As well to bring a unifying feel to all our steins. We are covering the cost of the new standard lid, however unless the Topper stretch goal of $70,000 is reached it won't be used for this project as its intended to have a topper attached to it. The Basic lid shown above will be used otherwise.
Each stein comes numbered on the bottom. The total number of steins made is completely dependent on how many we sell here and the number you receive will reflect the order in which you pledged. This stein is exclusive to this Kickstarter project, we will order some extras to insure all pledges are covered incase there is breakage or defects. If there are any leftover afterwards we will list them on our website for sale.
We teamed up with Mitch O'Connell again on this stein. The idea seemed to fit perfectly with his art and we were blown away yet again with his submission. Mitch has illustrated for every major publication you can think of, has had his art exhibited in galleries and museums around the world and his imagery is merchandised up the rear. His love of tattoos, especially traditional American flash, is apparent in his 3 sets of sold-out tattoo flash, "Stewed Screwed and Tattooed," "Done While Drunk," and "From the Bottom of the Barrel." Many of the designs were collected in the bestselling Last Gasp book, "Mitch O'Connell Tattoos," now in it's 5th printing. Those designs were also brought to life by thousands of talented tattooists on thousands of satisfied customers. He curated shows at Chicago's "Tattoo Factory Gallery" for two years, including the famous "Tura! Tura! Tura!" exhibit, a tribute to Tura Satana. Most recently he curated "Ghoul Power!" a huge artistic tribute to Detroit's very own beloved tv horror host, The Ghoul. He has judged shows at Northeastern Illinois University and participated in their "Inked: Tattoo Imagery In Contemporary Culture" exhibition. He also was a guest speaker and contributing artist at the Baltimore Museum of Fine Arts, "Baltimore Ink: Patterns On Bodies" exhibition. Currently he is hard(ish) at work on his 4th set of flash and his second book of tattoo designs. http://www.mitchoconnell.com/http://mitchoconnell.blogspot.com/https://www.facebook.com/mitch.oconnell

The Future of Steins.
We are pushing forward with our stein projects and hope to do at least 4 a year. We have more artists already lined up and the rest of the year booked. A couple other artists already confirmed with samples in the works are, Skinner from Oakland CA and Dr Alderete out of Mexico City. We look forward to continuing this lost outdated collectable with new cutting edge art from artists around the world for years to come!
Risks and challenges
We have tweaked and fine tuned the stein process since our previous Kickstarter. With our last project, The Krampus Stein, we were met with a delay in production because of the custom metal lid. We hadn't had the lid designed until halfway through the kickstarter. The lid sculpt wasn't started until after the kickstarter had closed. Our timeline was originally based around the stein with standard non custom lid. The customization added more of a delay than we had anticipated.
This time around we have the topper designed, we have it sculpted and we have a standardize flat base lid designed and being tooled. We are very prepared! This year will be fast paced and we thank you all for your support and patience!
