About this project
After pouring my entire creative self into a debut LP for the past two months, the laptop all of the work in progress was contained on crashed.
It's not even like I could just cut my losses and start again: I am completely without means to finish this LP. THAT MEANS I TOOK TO KICKSTARTER TO TRY AND FIND SUPPORT TO FINISH AN LP THAT YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS CAN DANCE TO, CRY TO, or DO AN AWKWARD COMBINATION OF BOTH TO ALL NIGHT LONG.
OF COURSE, being able to get the equipment necessary to get this thing done would mean the world to me and I would be totally thankful forever and ever and I've tried to come up with some great rewards to show my gratitude. YOU CAN ALWAYS SHOOT ME AN EMAIL THOUGH AND SAY "HEY IF YOU DO THIS I'LL GIVE YOU TWENTY BUCKS" and more than likely, I'll be like "okay."
I've been all over with this new LP. It's shaping up to be a major deaprture from the demos I put out a year ago. I'm taking in and trying to work with all the music that's changed me since I was little, from 90s new age to rap to dance, etc. Because that's the point of music, right? To somehow be simulataneously absolutely now but never without a past? The new LP is something I can't wait to share with everyone, and something I SUPER WANT TO FINISH!
Of course, you can always get me at email@example.com. or if you want to be official, firstname.lastname@example.org
NOW I'M GOING TO SHOW YOU A FEW OF THE NICE THINGS PEOPLE WHO LISTENED TO MY EP SAID ABOUT ME SO YOU CAN SAY TO YOURSELF "oh, THIS DUDE'S NOT MESSING AROUND."
A track from my demo EP was included on the BIRP! August 2012 playlist
(on the demo EP): "GAM has conjured a solid effort in the realm of experimental dreamwave." - sloanerangermusic.com
"hazy electronic ear honey that makes you all fuzzy and warm inside." - musicalhifive.com
(on the track From a Dimly Lit Room) "subtle intricacies and delicate harmonies, but with a very solid bass throughout... A seriously great track, by a very talented guy." - sounds like indie music blogspot.
Risks and challenges
The main risk? THAT IN A COUPLE MONTHS I HATE EVERYTHING I'VE DONE AND SCRAP IT. but, come hell or high water, THIS LP WILL SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY NO MATTER HOW LONG IT TAKES ME.
my real fear, honestly, is that the old loops I was starting to work with won't be recoverable from the crashed laptop and it'll take me another six to seven months to finish it (which is like seven years in internet time).
BUT, AND I MEAN THIS, I WILL FINISH THIS LP WITH YOUR HELP!
