Draw Down the Moon will be a short horror/drama film about a young boy and his estranged older sister confronted with mortality. After the death of their mother, they move to an old family farm house for a fresh start. While coping with their loss and attempting to reconnect, they encounter a spirit that slowly possesses the boy. In the end, the sister must rescue her brother and literally bring him back to life.
The inspiration for the film came in the form the location and the experiences of the people who've set foot there. Gleason Farm is in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York, and it is home to a farm house of at least 130 years. The house has a unique look that is best described as beautifully eerie. Additionally, the land claims a century old graveyard and a Native American burial ground.
Our goal with this film is to challenge our audience's ideas of the physical world, the metaphysical realm, and the strength of a family bond. Lastly, we will showcase the scenic landscape of the Finger Lakes region in upstate New York.
