About this project
We are beyond excited to share this project with you. So many things outside our control have played out better than we could have imagined. Being at the right place at the right time sums up our experience so far. For example, days after deciding to launch a kickstarter while figuring out how we would shoot a video, we meet Kris Magyarits. This guy rallied up his troops and had a crew filming within days. That amazing video you just saw was a donation before we even started asking for donations. We are so blown away that complete strangers believed in us so much as to donate their time and resources to help make this project a success. Thank you Kris and ShootersInc!
Mr. Fuzzy and the Barbarian is so grateful for the exciting journey we've had thus far. We've had so many great opportunities in our short time as a band. The band started out a fun outlet of two guys in a Barber shop with a banjo and gut bucket. It has since blossomed into something greater than the sum of its parts. We've had the honor of playing the Theater of the Living Arts in Philadelphia twice. Once for Lebowskifest and for the Second Annual East Coast Beard and Mustache Competition. Our fans range from young to old which is really awesome! We love performing however our fans constantly ask for a CD that they can call their own.
We are so fortunate to have friends and family support our endeavor to make our first full length album! With the funds you've so graciously donated we will be able to make this dream become a reality.
We are trying to raise $10,000 to record our album. We can't wait to share it everyone. We need your help. We are not the typical band seeking fame or riches. We haven't pursued a record deal,or a management team. Instead we've opted to busk on the streets, play strange gigs, and make people smile. We are excited to share this with more people.
$10,000 will afford us the opportunity to:
Record at Morning Star studios with the residing engineer Dave Schonauer.
Have our album professionally mixed and mastered.
Do a mass pressing of our album.
Promote our album.
The Goods (well... one good but the plural sounded better)
The pic below is that of a custom washboard made by yours truley. Imagine owning one of these. Custom made, etched faces, adjustable strap, and a volume knob for more cowbell. Give a click to watch Mr. Andrew Toy demonstrate their sweet sound.
Even our misfortunes have turned out to be triumphs. A few years ago we bought our first and only ever tour vehicle. She was gorgeous! A 1982 Coachman RV. You get what you pay for. This gem could get to the show, but couldn't get back. For all the hassle she was, she did give us a song. Check it out....Coachman circa 1982
Risks and challenges
It may sound like a cliche but the only obstacle standing in our way is funding for the album. We've had our trial and error period with our formerly released EP. From that experience we've learned time management and efficiency in order to complete our goals. With that said, we do not anticipate any further problems. If time has taught us one thing its to have a focused plan before entering the studio. Our goals are simple and therefore that much more attainable with the help of our friends, family and fans!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
