Focus and Flow
You are focused when devote your full attention to task at hand. If you maintain a focused state for longer than 15 min, you may enter a ‘flow’ state. FOCI shows your focus state it with a yellow orb.
When your mind and body are free from tension, or other arousal triggers, you have reached a Calm state. A Calm state is signified by a blue orb on FOCI.
Attention fatigue takes place when your inhibitory attention mechanism has fought hard against distractions. When your orb turns to purple, it indicates that you are experiencing attention fatigue.
Whilst a mild level level of stress can boost our performance; excessive stress can impair your ability to focus, and increase health risks such as strokes, heart attacks over the long run. FOCI's orb alerts you of stress by turning red, in addition to a warning message.
