There's an old maxim in military strategy about the importance of reinforcing success, and that's pretty much what this Kickstarter campaign is about. We've concluded two successful Kickstarters this spring: one to fund publication of The Dwarven Smith's Tome, #5 in our Places by the Way series of location modules for D&D 5E, and the other to launch Found by the Way, a parallel series of modules compatible with Pathfinder.
Ramen Sandwich Press launched Places by the Way in January 2017, but we are always reminded that not everyone knows that it's a thing. Every campaign we run brings support from people we haven't heard from before, and during this most recent campaign some backers asked me if there was any way they could get copies of Places by the Way #1-4. In response, I added three rewards to the campaign, and all together they proved very popular.
Well, we still have some time to take pre-orders; no reason to stop taking them until we actually have to tell our printer how many copies we need. So we'd like to offer another chance for anyone who wants to catch up with Places by the Way, or even just get an order in for Places by the Way #5: The Dwarven Smith's Tome. And while we're at it, we'd also like to give the Pathfinder fans among you another chance to get in on the launch of Found by the Way and pick up the first four modules. The links above take you to our last two Kickstarter campaigns, where you can get the low-down on Places by the Way, Found by the Way and Ramen Sandwich Press — in particular, Pathfinder fans may take note of the statement that I added after Paizo announced Pathfinder 2E, stressing Ramen Sandwich Press' intention to support Pathfinder over the long haul.
We're offering the same rewards that we offered in those earlier campaigns — they're all mushed together here, but looking at the earlier campaigns should help keep things clear.
Also, I should make it clear that, as a Kickstarter backer, you will be getting a "Limited Edition" version of each module that will not be available outside of Kickstarter. It includes an extra Easter Egg of content — an extra encounter, or a modification of an existing encounter — that you can think of as an inside joke between me and you, because you guys are just that special!
All of that being said, thank you for your interest, and I hope that you'll find these modules enjoyable to read and useful to your campaign.
Risks and challenges
At the moment, we have a lot of obligations to our Kickstarter backers stacked up. But we're making good progress on filling those obligations and we have every confidence that we'll deliver the rewards promised in this campaign in a timely manner.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
