Dale of Merchants is an elegant competitive card game series which takes a fresh approach to the deck building genre.
Strategic decisions: The gameplay is easy to learn but offers a great amount of strategic depth. Each card can be used in a variety of ways providing plenty of opportunities for impactful decisions.
Variety: Try different combinations of decks to open up new possibilities and create new experiences. You can customise the game to your group’s play style or mood.
Charming: The games feature adorable artwork of colourful animalfolks and are set in an original world which is rich in both story and characters.
Animalfolk decks are the core component of the Dale of Merchants series. Cards in these decks are what players use to build their own decks during a game. Dale of Merchants Collection comes with a total of 8 new animalfolk decks. These decks offer a great variety by themselves and they can also be combined with any decks from the original Dale of Merchants and Dale of Merchants 2.
Do you fancy gathering wealth with Tuataras or being a harbinger of misfortune with Giant Pangolins? All of the new decks will be introduced in project updates as the campaign progresses. Come back regularly to meet the new folks!
In Dale of Merchants games, players are aspiring merchants and other hopefuls participating in the trading competitions. In Dale of Merchants Collection, these colourful player characters are represented by their own individual cards.
At the start of the game, each player receives one character card which gives them powerful abilities they can use throughout the game. There’s a total of 55 unique character cards. Would you like to embark on a quest with the Venturer or start a duel with your opponent with the Duelist? Or maybe you would prefer giving shady advice with the Advisor? Invite them to the mix and the game becomes deeper than ever.
Are there any animals you would like to see added to the game? Submit your suggestions here and vote for animals here! Your ideas might make it into the game as animalfolk characters.
Trap cards are another new gameplay feature. Each player has their own trap cards, and whenever one of them ends up in another player’s hand it either harms that player or benefits its owner. Traps come in four different varieties and players may choose to include any number of them in a game during the setup.
Dale of Merchants Collection is designed to be a storage solution for all of your Dale of Merchants content and comes with new additions to make the storage and setup of the game as straightforward as possible. In addition to the organisation improvements, there are two new features to help you choose the animalfolk decks at the start of the game.
All pledge levels include access to the pledge manager after the campaign. Through the pledge manager, you may add any number of additional games from Snowdale Design’s catalog to your pledge.
There is a separate pledge level for retailers wishing to support the campaign. Retailers may order any number of games through the pledge manager and use the funds from the pledge for it. Contact info@snowdaledesign.fi for more information. Proof of store ownership is required.

Animalfolks to be featured on a select few character cards are still unknown. Who would you like to see joining the competition? Suggest your favourite animals here and they might be added to the game!
We will hold 3 separate polls during the campaign: one for reptiles, one for birds, and one for mammals. Each of them will run for one week and includes a selection of animals picked from your suggestions. The winner of each poll will be added to the game as an animalfolk character card. Feel free to share the polls with your friends!
This campaign will not feature any stretch goals. We want to include everything we have planned in the game. So, should the funding goal be reached, every Dale of Merchants fan will be able to enjoy the definitive version of Dale of Merchants Collection. Rest assured that the game has plenty of new content and the components will be made of high quality materials. We wish for you to be able to enjoy your game for a long time.

Dale of Merchants Collection is the third game in the series after the original Dale of Merchants and Dale of Merchants 2. Each of the earlier games includes 6 unique thematic animalfolk decks which can be combined freely with the decks from other Dale of Merchants games.
If you would like to order the earlier games together with Dale of Merchants Collection, choose the appropriate pledge option. All backers will have access to the pledge manager after the campaign and are able to order any additional games there as well. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask us in the comments!
Dale of Merchants Collection introduces a few card effects that would create problems when used in combination with certain cards from the first two games. We’re addressing this issue by creating an update pack which will include updated versions of those cards to replace the old ones. At the same time we’re taking the opportunity to improve the clarity of certain cards and the uniformity of the game. New printings will include these updated cards instead of the old versions.
Owners of the old editions of the first two games will be able to receive the update pack for free. Backers can add the update pack to their order in the pledge manager after the campaign has finished.
In the world of Daimyria, animalfolks have risen to build civilizations, develop vibrant cultures, and, of course, practise the art of trading. Trading competitions have become popular across the world, sometimes even as means of choosing a person for an important position. This time the competition shall be especially prestigious as the winner will be awarded the position of honour: Director of the Greatest Exhibition in the World.
The Exhibition is held every five years and showcases the most innovative new products along with technological and cultural advancements from over 50 participating nations. The Director's vision and guidance dictates the content of the Exhibition and thus shapes the future of art, technology, and economy of the whole world.
Daimyria is the world where the Dale of Merchants series as well as our other game, Dawn of Peacemakers, take place. It is rich in both story and characters and we continue to develop it further through the games we release.
Shipping costs will be calculated and added to your pledge automatically after selecting the country of residence. All products will be shipped through fulfilment centers operating in the USA, Canada, European Union, and Australia. Backers in these regions will not be subject to import taxes. Shipping outside these regions may result in additional costs.
After the campaign, all backers will have access to the pledge manager through which they may add any number of additional games from Snowdale Design’s catalog to their pledge. All products will be fulfilled in a single delivery in order to keep shipping costs at minimum. If you would like to receive some of the games sooner, consider purchasing from our online store.
If the campaign is successful and production goes according to plan, backers will receive their games by May of 2019. This estimate accounts for minor delays so an even earlier delivery is a possibility.
Snowdale Design is receiving Kickstarter support from Board Game Circus. This campaign is run by Snowdale Design who will also publish the game. Snowdale Design and Board Game Circus are two separate entities and one's views and values might not reflect the other's.

Risks and challenges
Snowdale Design has successfully completed and delivered 2 prior projects on Kickstarter with a third one completed and currently in the process of being delivered.
We will do our best in trying to prevent and minimise any delays in final development, manufacturing, shipping, or delivery. Reliable manufacturing and fulfilment partners have already been selected. That being said, unforeseen issues which delay the project may still occur. We promise to tackle any and all possible obstacles and provide transparent communication should any delays happen.
