How To Convert Your Game Key To A Steam Key

If you're looking to convert your game key into a Steam key faster, we've got a great solution for you. Starting right now, you can automatically generate a Steam key from your game key. Here's how:

Just go to 'My Keys' (https://store.uberent.com/Account/MyKeys) and select your game key. A popup window should appear asking if you'd like to convert your game key into a Steam code. You cannot re-convert a Steam code back into a game key, but because your account is linked to PlayFab, you can play both via Steam and the Launcher!

Just enter your Steam key into your Steam client as "Activate a Product on Steam".

Your account must also be linked to your Steam account in order to play on Steam. To link your accounts correctly, please follow these instructions:

1) Restart your browser. It's important that you don't have any stale cookies.

2) Go to https://uberent.com/user/linkedsteamaccount

3) Log in with your UberNet credentials

4) Enter your Steam account information to link your UberNet account to your Steam account.

5) Annihilate.

---

Also, a special note to those of you with support tickets currently: we're sorry for the wait. We're experiencing a larger than normal volume of requests, and will get to each one as efficiently as possible. Pinky swear!

I'm having the same problem as Duane. I've linked my Uberent account to my Steam account, but I'm not getting the pop-up when I click on any of my game keys. I only want one key converted to Steam at the moment, but the provided instructions aren't working. I guess it's time to email support or message them here via Kickstarter.

If we already activated the key way back in the beta, do we need to reactivate it for retail? I hope this isn't a silly question, just wanted clarification! :)

    3. Duane on

Hello, I am having trouble with the three extra keys I got. They say they will be ready when the retail period starts and since we are at full launch wouldn't now be the time? I am not getting a pop up, I am being linked to a separate page. Thank you

Key converted to Steam. :) Thanks, Uber!

@bonuewavepilot: Not one of the Uber crew, but I am at least a programmer, for what that's worth. My understanding of the game's architecture is that it runs as two completely separate programs, a client program (which you and I already have) and a server program (which we don't). Uber has spent a lot of time and effort fixing bugs in the client program and optimizing it to make it ready for use by the general public (i.e., us), but they haven't gotten the server code up to that standard yet.

So, yes, the devs have been connecting to a separate server all this time and, when we get single-player offline mode, we'll still be connecting to a server to play, too. It's just that the server will be running on our machine instead of on Uber's server farm.

Well, Uber very kindly converted my key for me and looks like I'm all set: thanks guys! :)

Yeah, I'm having the same problem as Eliiot. Linked my account with Steam but when I try to click on my key to convert it it goes to a blank page in Firefox, while IE says that the page "cannot be found."

Am I missing something here? I have tried in multiple browsers and made sure I don't have any popup blockers but I still see no way to convert my code to a steam code. What is going on?

Hi guys, I understand that you're working through a large amount of support tickets, but I emailed you a week ago on launch day about my inability to use my correct email address to get a key. I still haven't received a response. Please put more people on support if there's so many tickets! Thanks, and I'm very excited to finally try out your game.

I checked to see if I had a steam key but there isn't one, like seeing as i've been waiting a while to play this I'm kind of hoping something hasn't gone wrong

@Uber Looking forward to the arrival of the non-online version. Lag in generating planetary bodies every game and in issuing commands unfortunately disrupts the game flow for me.

@Uber - it takes longer to make a non-DRM version? Wouldn't the process be more like 1) make the game, 2) add the DRM nonsense?

I assume during development your programmers weren't all logging into Steam or Uber servers in order to test it....

(Don't mean to be combative about it or suggest you're doing anything dodgy - tis an honest question!)

    13. Adam Backström on

Actualy i get no option to convert to a steam key,
And i have linked to my steam account, but still cant add the game to my Steam :/

    14. Khalashnikovf on

Im little bit confused. I admit that I did not try, but I donated 90 dollars and I should have Digital Deluxe edition on Steam, but there is nothing in my DLC list.
      How is this working?

So, will I be able to activate the key both on ubernet and steam? Or only one can be activated?
From the previous official statement I cannot understand if the choice limit me in any way.

Although I consider it a lower priority (to me, personally, at least) than offline single-player, are you also planning to add an interactive tutorial? If so, any ETA? I don't find youtube videos to be a particularly effective way of learning a game's interface. I need to actually use the interface to learn it, not watch a video and try to memorize everything while I'm not even in the game.

Chris - We are still working to provide a DRM-free, offline play experience. We really wanted it to be ready in time for launch, but unfortunately it just wasn't ready.

Suner - Some of the physical goods are still in production so we are unable to ship them at this time. Once they are ready, we will send out a notification to allow verification and adjustments to certain items before shipping.

I have a rather daft question. I have been in since the alpha at the 100 dollar mark. I might have missed this somewhere, however I live in the UK and I was wondering when what sort of ship date are we looking at?

    19. Salvador on

Hi Uber, like to feedback on the game through here while only have played singleplayer:
1: camera bug-sometimes when I get message enemy unit detected, you can quick link the message. On several occassions my ingame screen showed nothing and will not jump to units anymore. I have to quit the game.
      2. Singleplayer started for me without advanced units, fighting against advanced enemies on other planets made it impossible to continue.

So what I get out of this double-update is that PA is only playable with DRM (online connection, either Uber or Steam), which implies there's no (single player) or (DRM free) modes. Is that accurate?

Steam key still not showing in my Ubernet account after following the guide , just linked with steam now ?....

    24. Uber Entertainment Inc 2-time creator on

Yup! Because your game key activates to your account, you are able to play via Steam or the Launcher on any computer capable of playing the game. :)

    25. Kelly Costanza, OOoE's Faceless Lord on

So with the Steam conversion we'll be able to play the Steam way and the Non-Steam way? So, best of both worlds for those who don't mind having Steam on their computer! (Never really understood why people get in a tiff over Steam, really. It's the absolute most mild form of copy-protection that exists, and updates games auto-magically in exchange.)

    26. Michael Cantor on

      There we go! Thanks!
