Details On The Retail Release Of Planetary Annihilation And An Upcoming Update Tease!
Some of you may have already seen the news this morning, but just in case: we're teaming up with Nordic Games for the retail (read: boxed) distribution of Planetary Annihilation. This was a fantastic opportunity and we can't wait to share more details about the packaging, the art, and when it'll hit shelves. The press release is here.
While we have you -- a lot of great stuff is coming together for our next update, which should hit mid-December. We're close to finishing a heavily requested feature: area commands. Area commands will let you build multiple factories with a simple click and drag motion. Also, they'll give you the power to attack static areas, do mass reclaims in static areas, and do mass repairs in static areas. Very cool stuff.
The next update will also incorporate a ton of bug fixes and tweaks to the game. In a nutshell, we're making a push to address some of the annoying little issues we've received community feedback about. Nothing says Christmas like a little competitive planet smashing, so we're thrilled to polish the overall experience even more.
Speaking of destruction, our last update added interplanetary nukes. These nukes greatly expand our interplanetary play and we've seen some incredible fights from broadcasters. Fights like this, for example, one are why we're making the game that we are:
