Today's Update Packs A Punch!
The update train isn’t pulling into the station just yet. Today’s update to Planetary Annihilation is what we liked to call “a doozy” in the biz.* Optimizations, tweaks, AI fixes: you name it, it’s in there. We’ve put a lot of effort in making the beta experience great and we hope you’re pleased with what we’ve been doing in the background.
As always, you can catch the full patch notes on our forums or in the client. Here’s a quick highlight of what we’ve dropped into the latest build, though:
- AI Optimizations - the AI is now more capable than ever. It now builds defenses more, updates rally points, uses advanced fabbers more efficiently, and builds defenses in expansions. In other words, the AI is better and more evil than before.
- Game Loading Tweaks - we’ve changed the way games load. As soon as a lobby is hosted, the server starts preparing the planet both server-side and locally. The “Connect to server” screen hangs a little bit, but once the solar system info loads in you’ll get into a game much more quickly.
- Building Placement - we’ve made some big changes to building code that should have users seeing less false positives on placement and better placement warnings.
- Ahoy! Navy Changes - We’ve made a pass on the balance of regular navy units. Advanced navy is getting some loving in the near future, too.
- And More
Neat, right? Thanks for playing. And, hey, if you haven’t been now is a great time to jump in — the game just keeps getting better and better. Full patch notes available here.
*OK, maybe no-one actually says “doozy” anymore, but we’re trendsetters here at Uber. Let’s make doozy awesome again.
