The final 24 hours- A New Reward Tier, The Key, New Shirts, and an invite to the Final Countdown

Posted by Planetary Annihilation Inc (Creator)

Hello Kickstarters!

It’s been a constant swell of excitement over the past few weeks, with each day bringing up a new set of passionate backers from all over the world; every one being super gracious with their pledges and their votes of encouragement. Thank you all again for your absolutely incredible support!

We are now down to less than 24 hours. The time for annihilation is near for this Kickstarter project.

And we have a few last things to announce.

$140 TIER (Digital Only)
This is a special tier created for those who don’t want any of the physical goods but still want the naming rights. This includes everything in the $90 tier. Every procedurally generated planet needs a name and if you contribute you’ll be immortalized by being among the list of those uber enough to have a planet named after them. Just to be clear this tier includes no physical goods at all.

NEW ADD-ON: Game Loaded USB Key - $20 Add-on with $95 pledges and above*
Available to our $95+ backers. We haven’t finalized the design of this key yet but it will likely be in the form of the commander. We’ve heard you loud and clear that you want a physical copy of the game. A USB drive has been on our agenda for a bit and everyone has convinced us that this is a good idea. Get ‘em while they’re hot!

* Does not include $140 Tier which is digital only.

Awesome T-shirt - $30 Add-on with $95 pledges and above*
Fans have rallied around our Design Commander, John’s awesome face. No surprise, it smashes into planets and eats galaxies whole. Now we want to give you the opportunity to wear it.

* Does not include $140 Tier which is digital only.

Dev Team T-shirt - Added bonus for $500 pledges and above

As a bonus, we’re adding the t-shirt designed exclusively for the Uber development team for pledges into the $500 tier and above. There is no Add-on charge.

Join us as we watch the clock wind down on our Kickstarter project! Watch a live video stream from our studios in Kirkland, where we’ll spend some time talking about the Kickstarter experience and even more time about the kind of planetary annihilation we dream about as game designers and developers, as well as just fans.

We’ll also be happy to do a little Q&A with you.

Countdown starts at 10 AM PST.

Check it out here:

PS. If you want a sneak peek at the stream, we’ll be testing it live today.

Spread the word.

hello I am just wondering if it is possible to still get extra alpha keys for $20

    2. Whiterabbit-uk on

Hi, Just wondering where things stand at the moment. It's getting near the project time of delivery. How will backers be informed. Thanks in advance for any info.

If you send updates via email, I have to say i've backed well over 60 projects over the last 12 months and am getting several updates from various projects every day. I'm stuffed full of morphine, so rarely bother to check any (just don't have the strength), so I apologise if you've already answered this question elsewhere.

And someone should turn the Awesome Head into a kind of Unicron. His robot form a giant transformers-esque robot and his planet form the awesome head.

      I'm still listening too!

    6. DagothAgahnim(Menarra) on

Congrats on the funding! So happy we get a full orchestral soundtrack, I'm /STILL/ listening to the Total Annihilation songs 16 years later, they're great.

In fact, I'm putting them on again right now in celebration!

    7. Missing avatar

      Zeus on

Oh! I forgot the "additional $15 for international shipping" ... Could you add +$15 to my pledge of $250 please? :/
I really want the "signed printed copy of the Art of PA book, that showcases the concepts and conceptual design of the game."

    8. Darren Myers on

@Chris usually it takes time for kickstarter to get them the funds, and i guess thats when they'll start putting together the survey and start (possibly) working on the game development further. After the surveys get sent out they'll probably start looking as to how many shirts,USB drives, ect. need to be ordered/shipped.

    9. Chris Bacon on

Well, so what now? It would just be nice to have a final word update announcement on where things head from here.

      Alek on

Best of luck to you on the game, make my donation count! 8)

    11. Chuck Nelson on

Wow, hit all the goals, impressive!

      Gord Cluthe on

I've never spent $250 on a game before (even with massive amounts of DLC).

This one was a no-brainer. I've put so many HOURS into each game from this franchise, no other RTS can come close to it.

Thanks for the streaming countdown today (and introducing some of your ladies *ha*), - you are the only guys who can pull off something like PA and keep it true to it's roots.

I look forward to offering constructive feedback in the Alpha and Beta ... and without a doubt - the finished product.

A great start to this journey - good luck folks !!!

      Simo on

Congratulations on the impressive result! Good luck on the work ahead.

    14. Davidb on

2.2 million and still going. Good luck on all the hard work ahead!

    15. Missing avatar

      Jason Sentinella on

2.1million and counting? You guys did a good job with the pledge rewards. Some incredibly tempting offers there probably made the goals easier to obtain. Till next year then... I await my key's :)

    16. Dan Wetzel on

@Joshua - If you want the flash drive, it's a $20 add-on to your pledge. For instance, if you're at the $100 pledge level, you would pledge $120, but choose $100 pledge level. However, they are unable to edit the descriptions of the different pledges to add the note in them to say "Add $20 if you want a flash drive." It's exactly the same as if you are wanting extra game keys.

I'm assuming that after the Kickstarter is done, you'll get a survey or something where you can say what you want done with your "over the pledge amount" money. For me it would be "One flash drive, three extra game keys" or something to that effect.

    17. Missing avatar

      Six on

Congratulations on hitting all the goals!
Really looking forward to the documentary but a bit worried about the game itself, with such high expectations it can't really hold up... or can it!?!?

    18. Missing avatar

      Joshua Alexander on

I went to the contribute page, but I didn't see the $20 flash drive addon, even though I'm in that pledge bracket. Is it not added to the list for purchase yet???

Regardless, thanks to everyone, backers and devs, for getting behind this project like crazy. I never imagined this game would have such a loyal backing. I always hoped, but NEVER imagined. Good job everyone!!

    19. Missing avatar

      Darrell Johnson on

You need to make some "awesome" head stickers. They would look AWESOME slapped on my 50 at the range.

    20. Missing avatar

      Simon on

Also want that Dev shirt but can't afford $400 extra :S

    21. Jairo Cornejo on

@Jabberwok: That trailer is just for showing us the game concept.

    22. Missing avatar

      Simon on

If these people deliver all this in a year, they'll have the touch… actually they should listen to this anyway :P

    23. Missing avatar

      Jabberwok on

A couple questions, if here's the right place for it:
Will this game have persistent wreckage and destructible terrain elements, like TA?
Also, will it have variable elevations like TA? The planet surface in the trailer seems to be flat.

Those were a couple things that really set that game apart from lesser RTSs for me, and I'd love to see that stuff return.

    24. tedd on

check out this kickstarter game its funding is ending soon too…

We need moar stretch goals! This train is still going for the next four hours! ;-)

I'm quite sure these guys will deliver, they've done some amazing work before so I'm sure our money is in the right pockets!

2013 july - kickstarter make pledge page says. but not sure.

      ponyphoney on

has there been a release date announced?

    29. Steve Guns on

Pretty f*ing amazing! :) But yeah, now it's up to Uber to make their promises come true, we did our part ;)

    30. Craig Janssen

Congrats to all! Looking forward to the game :)

    31. Donghun Kang on

      @Chris Stratford

Me too. But HELL YEAH! We did it!

    32. Chris Stratford on

Honestly I did not think there was any chance of getting to that point 3 days ago.

    33. Aichon on

So long as you pledge the money for the add-on now, yes, you can pick your add-ons in the survey later.

    34. Missing avatar

      Kevin Fabião on

      2,100,000!!!!!!! O yeaaaaaa!!!!!

    35. Missing avatar

      Triangulor on

Are we SURE we will get to pick the add ons later, I just really don't want to miss out on that sweet sweet loot!

    36. Missing avatar

      Ezra on

Erik I think we'll get to choose when we receive the survey e-mail from Über.

    37. Missing avatar

      Erik Hawkins on

How do we pick those add-ons?

    38. Jairo Cornejo on

Nice music is not boring at all.

    39. Unclever title on

Good heavens, $2,076,006 with just 6 hours to go. I have no idea where Paypal donations are but even if the other $23,994 doesn't come through Kickstarter I think a documentary is going to happen!

    40. Ogaday on

However good an orchestral score is, once I've played for 8 hours straight, I'm sure I'll be tired of it. I need an alternative dubstep soundtrack XD

    41. Daniel Mons on

From what i have read somewhere, add ons will be choosed after the funding is done, you will receive an email, dont worry.

    42. Missing avatar

      Chris Van Leuven on

Yes to Jeremy Soule, just upped my pledge for the USB drive.

    43. Donghun Kang on

how do you choose add on? there's no option page on managing pledge page. Already increased to 535 though. usb is better than emailing.

    44. Missing avatar

      Pierre-Yves GATOUILLAT on

+1 for Jeremy Soule, TA soundtrack was epic, it would be perfect here.

    45. Missing avatar

      Seonor on

This might have been asked before, but will there be an option for classic (four borders with a piece of land between them) maps?

    46. Missing avatar

      Nocrow on

I absolutely love the documentary on Double Fine.
Really hope we make it to 2,1.

    47. Steve Guns on

Same here... The full orchestra stretch goal is very nice as well but for me the most important stuff was up to the 1.8mo. Glad that is all there.

    48. Missing avatar

      Seth on

Agreed with moon, I cannot wait to play i hope the alphas available at least around christmas (or abit after) Lord i haven't been so excited for a project in ages.
