Mortifera is the story of two medieval Irish demon hunters who summon a demon of their own to battle occult arsholes.
WE HIT OUR GOAL! THANKS FOR ALL THE SUPPORT!
Here are our newly introduced stretch goals:
$10,000.00 = 3 Posters with every order of 20 dollars or more.
$11,000.00 = Graphic Novels become hard cover graphic novels instead of paperback.
$13,000.00 = 2 T-shirts for the 35 dollar tier and above. That's double the shirt for the same price. It will be a different design as well.
If we hit those goals, I'll come up with more deliciousness...
Welcome to the Mortifera Comics Kickstarter page.
We are trying to raise some funds to print a graphic novel of Mortifera.
We have the first story arc finished, we just need to get this bad boy printed and in people's hands! Not only will the book feature the story, but also a myriad of other awesome concept art pieces, character bios and other unreleased content. If you want to read the first 3 issues for free, check out www.mortifera.net to get pdf versions of the story.
We've gotten some great reviews from people like Aint It Cool, Geeks of Doom, Fanboy Comics, and Comic Bastards. You can read more at our blog.
We've also worked with the animation studio MoreFrames to create some frenetic and high quality animation shorts. You can check out part 1 of the series here:
We have a second part of this in the works right now, and hot damn is it epic. MoreFrames has earned millions of youtube views with their exemplary visuals. We want to make more and you can help us by donating!
We've tried to make our donation tiers as rewarding as possible. Books, shirts, posters, drawings, etc. are all available and they are at pretty reasonable prices. Our thought process was, "Let's make these "Donation" tiers something that people would pay for anyway." I mean come on, a t-shirt (see below) an unreleased comic and a signed poster for 35 bucks?! Now that's a deal!
With your help, we can stay indie and keep making comics and cartoons. Frankly, we aren't looking to get rich off of this, we just want to make occulty-goodness because it's fun and there are folks out there that are afraid to publish this kind of work. It's outside the usual realm of comics and cartoons, but damn it, that's why we like it. The more cash we get, the more books, cartoons and shirts we can make.
Thanks for the support!
Frost and Sarah
The posters will be a random cover from one of the comics... Check 'em out here:

The brutal music in our Kickstarter Video was provided by Mors Principium Est.

They are the perfect soundtrack for a comic like this, so give 'em a listen.
Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
Here are the challenges and risks for us:
1.) Printing the graphic novels will take a month or two, then we'd have to send them off to you, dear supporter.
2.) Shirts have to be printed, then sent off to you. This will take a month or so, then shipping.
3.) Drawing you in the comic will take some time as we have to get through each issue, but we will likely do some concept work that we can show you so you aren't thinking to yourself "Hey, where's my gorgeous face in Mortifera form?" Keep in mind, drawing is hard. It also takes time, but we'll keep you updated.
4.) Cartoons also take a while, but we update our facebook pretty regularly, so you can see the updates there as well.
Not for now, unfortunately. We may in the future or if we raise enough money over our goal here on Kickstarter. Sea Lion books printed our first issue had a limited run that sold out in comic stores. There are a few around, from what we hear, but not many! There's also a variant cover done by Pat Lee which had an even smaller print run.
Pfft. T-Rex. Duh. Some would argue that a skilled driver could avoid the limited arm reach of the T-Rex, but dude, come on. Rex means King, bro.
