We're expanding the garden at Mineral to with more herbs, edible flowers, kitchen waste composting, vegetable beds, and garden seating.
Mineral restaurant was established in 2006 in the charming & idyllic village of Murphys, in the Sierra Foothills. We are on Main St. nestled between wine tasting rooms, shopping, and boutique lodging. Barely the size of a postage stamp, our exhibition kitchen offers a farm to Chef take on modern vegetarian cuisine. Brilliant seasonal flavors, backed by modern French technique. Mineral is a very personal and passionate restaurant. We are truly a small family business, operated daily by myself, Maya Radisich, my partner Executive Chef Steve Rinauro, and our two year old daughter, and hostess with the mostess, Gia Clementine.
We have about a 500 square foot space behind the restaurant that has begun it's journey to being an amazing kitchen garden. It currently provides all of the herbs, and a good portion of the greens for the Mineral kitchen, but we have visions of oh so much more! We have several projects planned that will allow us to maintain and improve the experience that our customers have come to expect.
We plan to build a small patio to accommodate a community garden table, and a fence to increase privacy. Due to our extremely limited dining room seating, this will provide a relaxing space for guests to enjoy a glass of wine, wait for their table, or dine with larger parties. We will add additional raised beds to increase our produce supply. We will implement a new compost system that will allow us to compost all of our kitchen waste, contributing more positively to our environment. And add several new varietals to our herb and edible flower beds. Eventually we hope to host a Wednesday evening Farmers Market in this space. We expect these projects will cost around $2500, and are hoping to earn $1800 as seed money through kickstarter.com so that we can take advantage of this upcoming season. We have been extremely blessed with phenomenal support from our customers, and are eager to continue improving your experience. We thank you in advance, from the bottom of our hearts, for your generous consideration and donations. We look forward to seeing you in the garden!
We will pick a date after the project is finalized. It will be in the end of June or beginning of July on either a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. We will do our best to accommodate any specific requests.
