Maps remind me of my dreams. They remind me of the people I want to help, the places I want to see, and the impact my efforts can have on the world. I believe that every great accomplishment starts with a dream.
I made these maps for the dreamers like me. For the people that see the world not just as it is, but as it could be. For the people that yearn for new experiences and adventures. I wanted to create something that would serve as a reminder of how far your dreams could take you. I hope you enjoy and thanks for your support!
What's so special about these maps?
The Dream Series merges art with engineering. It is a synergy between creative exploration and technical precision. A full set consists of three laser engraved, hand inlaid, acrylic glass maps. These maps started in my mind, were designed in illustrator, and brought to life through the use of a high-tech CNC laser.
Each Dream Series set is limited edition. I'll only be making 3,000 of each color scheme ~ EVER. Every set is hand signed and engraved with a number indicating its place in the series.
The Dream Series is made with bold colors because they represents the true nature of our dreams. The maps are made from two different colors of acrylic glass. Each colored piece of acrylic is carefully engraved and cut to create the maps you see here. All of the surface details are created with a high powered laser and display a level of detail that is impossible with any other production method. After the pieces are cut, the intricate land masses are hand assembled to ensure accuracy and precision.
The Dream Series maps have gone through 14 design revisions to get to the final product you see here. They've come a long way since their conception but they're finally ready to be shown to the world.
I've worked hard to create the Dream Series but in order to share it with the world, I need your help. The $10,000 I'm looking to raise will go directly toward the purchase of a high precision, CNC laser and the production of all the maps you've been rewarded.
So far, I've done all testing and manufacturing at Techshop, a community workshop for inventors and designers. However, Techshop's lasers are meant to be used by the whole community and it wouldn't be fair for me to monopolize them.
Every reward level is a map of some sort. No matter how much you can contribute, I want the reward you receive to embody your dreams.

I'll work with you to further customize a set of Dream Series maps. The $5000 pledge includes the design work and one set of 18 x 24 inch maps.
Think about the other dreamers in your life. These maps make great gifts both for yourself and for others! Though Christmas is a ways away, the Dream Series maps will be delivered just in time for the holidays.
How one makes something is just as important as what he make. Throughout every step of the design process I've made intentional decisions about how the Dream Series would come together. This includes how I would make a product that beautifully displays the world without hurting it. All excess acrylic glass will be returned to the recycled ecosystem for integration into future products.
Risks and challenges
The Dream Series is ready for production as soon as the Laser is setup! However, the laser setup is the one part of the process that I haven't been able to physically test yet. While I this could be seen as the biggest challenge going forward, I've been getting ready over the last few months.
In preparation, I've been in touch with several individuals that own their own lasers and have gained valuable insights into how to manage the delivery and setup processes in order to quickly get things up and running.
Having produced several Dream Series sets already, I have an intimate knowledge of the amount of time it takes to manufacture each map as well as the many details that go into making them a reality. This knowledge has been factored into the expected delivery date. I don't anticipate any delivery delays, but if there are any, I will make sure that the nature of the delay is known to all backers. Even with a potential delay, I don't foresee any problems delivering the maps before the holiday season.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
