Mr. Dressup was an iconic tv show in Canada played by Ernie Coombs and aired every weekday morning. From 1967 to 1996 he inspired children on CBC through songs, stories, games and art. My name is Keith and I am a Documentary Filmmaker in Canada. I have travelled across our nation to tell the story about Mr. Dressup and what he meant to Canadians growing up. From the treehouse to the tickle trunk, let's revisit the beauty and wonder of Mr. Dressup together.

I went to Toronto and had exclusive interviews with people in Ernie Coombs' life like his daughter Catherine. Get insight about the story of Judith Lawrence - the voice and puppeteer behind Casey and Finnegan. Travelling to beautiful British Columbia, I learned about Judith's decision to create Casey as gender a neutral character. Ernie Coombs demanded equal pay for both him and Judith over 50 years ago. I Visited the provinces in the Canadian Maritimes and took a deep dive regarding the close history and friendship that Mr. Dressup and Mr. Rogers shared. Even this many years later, fans still create artwork, drawings and animation about what Mr. Dressup and what the show meant to them growing up. In a time of politcal dividedness, anger and frustration - let's go back and revisit a time that was pure, innocent, creative and fun.

For all the fans both young and old - It is time to tell the Story of Mr. Dressup. The funding via kickstarter from Canadians will help pay to finish the documentary. The funding will go to original footage rights by CBC for playing Mr. Dressup Show, travelling expenses for interviews, video equipment rentals, post production costs and social media marketing. Various rewards will be given to funders. Some of the rewards include their name in finale credits of documentary, VIP List to watch the finished documentary first and for a select few we will even come to your home and feature you in the documentary.
