About this project
What we're doing!
We're raising money to shoot Bring The Music the movie. We recently pitched Bring The Music - the Prime-Time Television Show to Oprah Winfrey's OWN-TV so this is a little different. While Bring The Music is patterned after Cinti's Comedy Pageant, a live weekly comedy, variety, stand-up competition she created in 1999 and hosted in Manhattan for two consecutive years through 2001 a film version will have continuous flow and introduces audiences to a wide variety of live music.
We love that Bring The Music the movie's Battle of the Bands features indie, unsigned, underrepresented bands with original music. Ultimately 11 winning Bands of the Month will compete for Band of The Year, cash and prizes and tours. Touring the winning bands will further nurture their development and build their fan base. We love music and everything about it so while making a movie is a bit of a different concept than originally pitched, we love the continuous flow and freedom that film making provides too. Not to mention the musicians we could put to work and the many other jobs your support will help to create. It's all good!
While we are located in NYC we like to tour so that bands can play before live audiences. This will also provide a platform for unique audiences to demonstrate support for the local favorites. We are currently looking at Boston, Philadelphia, Detroit, Washington D.C., Chicago, Seattle, New Orleans, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Providence, Memphis and Austin. Budget constraints currently allow for hosting just 2 cities. Following the competitions the tours can take us to many destinations.
Why we're doing it!
If we don't take a chance, we will never know what we could accomplish nor what careers we might offer a big start. So here we are taking a chance on bringing you the music! Music, the universal language so just like listening to music, pledging here is something that everyone can participate in. We love music, we love film, and this massive battle of unsigned indie bands begins the discovery and introduction of some important and delicious new music. It also marries our two loves music and film in this unique and unusual way. Please join us in opening a door and dancing with you to the sounds of the future in our midst by pledging your dollars to help us make Bring The Music the movie. We can not do it without your help. While we are very talented we simply do not have the money and every dollar counts toward reaching our goal. So, we've come up with reward incentives to encourage participation on every level.
Who we are.
Cinti Laird, Host & Creator is a professional actress and producer of film, tv, stage and cabaret who has had to wear many hats to see a project through to completion including camera, actress, lights, sound, wardrobe, caterer, public relations and chauffeur. Before attending NYU Cinti had a rich and fulfilling life in television and music. After completing her BFA at New York University Tisch School of Arts, Cinti began her professional acting career in television with a stint on One Life To Live. Her first professional production assistant job was on RANSOME starring Mel Gibson for Director Ron Howard. Http://CintiLaird.ws
Chelsea Clark, Associate Producer •Attended 2 "Summer in the City" 8-week summer camps through the School for Film & Television (ages 15 & 16); Meisner Talent Scholarship recipient, •Selected through audition and attended 2-year conservatory program at School for Film & Television with Meisner scholarships; Key Student both years; Acting Certificate •Now completing undergraduate education at St. Francis College in Brooklyn Heights. Chad Rupnarine, Associate Producer • Film and video production professional who specializes in 2nd A.C.'ing and D.I.T'ing with a focus on RED Camera equipment. Chad has been 2nd AC'ing and D.I.T.'ing on short films, corporate videos and feature films, with experience working with the RED and the Canon 5D Mark II. In addition, he has been shooting and editing Interviews, Promotional Videos and Live Performances for the past 8 years. All of which was shot with the Panasonic DVX100a and edited in either Final Cut Pro or Avid Media Composer with graphics done with the Adobe Master Collection. He looks forward to working on new and exciting projects.
About The Team...
Our team came together quite by chance just three of the many people from extremely diverse backgrounds, seeking cost effective ways of make movies who organized a film cooperative where people share their skills and equipment to complete projects. We began making short films together nearly two and a half years ago and to date have made three. We found that we work well together and accomplish our goals. We will need to increase the team considerably to Bring The Music the movie to you, and are looking forward to that privilege.
You are our most important asset, with your help Bring The Music The Movie can make a lot of dreams come true. You can opt to be involved with us throughout the entire process. We will keep you updated on our progress every step of the way. In order for us to meet the challenge of this very ambitious undertaking your support by way of both your pledge and by acting as part of our on-line Street Team to spread the news to others by sharing this page with a mention in your Blogs, clicking share on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, MySpace, e-maii and other forms of communication is essential. So you see, we really do need and appreciate your help more than words can say!
Should we meet our goal, we will also be sending you your rewards as they become available and seeing some of you on the set. While opportunities to participate as a part of the live audience in the movie will be on-going you will always be responsible for your own transportation and expenses. We will inform you well in advance about when and where we will be filming so that you can plan ahead to fit your audience participation rewards into your schedule. Some of our ultra premium rewards, the Red Carpet Commemorative Program, The WRAP Party, The Red Carpet Bring The Music Battle of the Bands Finale, will not be available until film is nearly complete and our Red Carpet Screening is available only after the film is complete. So be patient, if we succeed at funding your rewards will be forthcoming!

What, when and where is the WRAP Party?
The WRAP party is a little get together for cast, crew and the production team once all of the footage has been shot and the film is in the can ready for post production editing. We will notify those of you who have opted to attend well in advance so that you can plan to join us. It's nice to have producers on hand at a WRAP!
Sit in on an editing session “Sneak Peak Private Screening”
During the editing process there will be several opportunities to sit with the Editor and Director to get a look at rough cuts. Since we don't anticipate filming before Winter/Spring 2012 – editing will not begin before the Fall/Winter 2012/2013. We will keep you posted about scheduling. No cameras, cell phones or other electronic devices will be allowed in the editing room. We will stay on top of keeping you posted about available dates well in advance to accommodate your scheduling and travel needs.
PARTY! The Red Carpet Opening night screening and party.
If you secure this limited option with your pledge, we will give you plenty of notice about the where and when of this event so that you can make your travel arrangements accordingly. If we are able to secure distribution that will make the event that much more exciting and elegant. Even if the Opening is actually secured as part of a film festival that would be great and you will be first on our list!
Can I Gift An Incentive?
YES! That is a Fabulous idea. If you would like to donate to the film but give the reward to someone as a gift, go through the normal process of making a donation in your name. For billing purposes, the donation must be in your name. After our deadline, we will send a message to you on Kickstarter. (It will be forwarded to the email address you provided) We will request things like your t-shirt size and address from you at that time. Please reply with all the person’s information that is to receive the reward. We will make sure they are the person who receives the reward.
Will you need my telephone number?
Yes! We need your telephone number to extend a personal thank you as well as to ascertain that you get your gift. We promise not to use if for any other purpose.
How will you get my T-shirt size?
We will going through all the people who have donated to request their phone number. If you have donated, you will get a message from one of us.. Please reply to back. Once we cross our deadline we will immediately start manufacturing to complete incentives for everyone involved. You will get a message from us requesting information from you like your T-shirt size, address, telephone, etc. Please reply back to us as soon as possible so that we can send your production incentive rewards.
Can I increase my pledge once it’s been made?
YES! Once you donate to our campaign, you may want to change your incentive reward to a different one, or increase your pledge amount. To do so, go to Kickstarter.com and sign in to “Manage Your Donation.” What happens if the money isn’t raised in time?
Unfortunately nothing. If our goal isn’t met before the deadline, no money changes hands and no movie is made. We want to avoid this scenario at all cost!
Can we exceed the goal?
YES! What a wonderful problem to have. Kickstarter will allow as much money as is given before the deadline. That could mean a wide theater release, or no skimping on packaging. Perhaps a better location or several different city locations to shoot in or filming in YOUR city. It could also mean shooting with a RED camera or better lights. The possibilities are endless.

Are Bring The Music The Movie or Cinti Laird Productions Inc. a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization?
Unfortunately neither are set up as non-profit. Donations are raw gifts. Non-tax deductible.
If I donate, when can I expect my incentives?
All incentives, big and small, will only happen if our goal is met. If we do meet our goal, immediately after our deadline we will start to manufacture and ship all physical merchandise directly to you. It will be our priority so, you will hear from us.
Who does the money go to?
Every penny (minus the fees for Kickstarter and Amazon involvement) will go directly to the production budget for Bring The Music The Movie. It will allow us to hire an experienced Line Producer and DP to guide us, camera operators, and crew, camera, lights equipment and location rentals, because the three of us can not do it alone. Your money goes directly to the funding of this film.
$2,500,000 seems like a low number for this type of project and movie budget and it is. The preparation and selection of initial preliminary bands alone is a daunting undertaking to par thousands of entries down to 400 to start. However if we raise this amount we are told by the bank that we would have a better chance at getting a loan for some parts of this project that Kickstarter funds will not cover. Plus, this type of project is a magnet for product placement sponsorships and we are keeping all options open.
