Emmanuel Jal was born into the life of a child solider on an unknown date in the early 1980s in the war torn region of Southern Sudan. Through unbelievable struggles, Emmanuel managed to survive and go on to emerge as a recording artist, achieving worldwide acclaim for his unique style of hip hop with its message of peace and reconciliation born out of his personal experiences. This past year, Jal co-starred with Reese Witherspoon in the Warner Brothers motion picture, “THE GOOD LIE” which tells the story about the journey of four young Sudanese refugees (based on The Lost Boys of Sudan) who win a lottery for relocation to the United States. Emmanuel is in demand as a speaker and has addressed the UN, US Congress, the Carter Centre and the highest tiers of several governments. He is also the founder of Gua Africa, an educational charity in East Africa.
As Emmanuel was traveling the world performing on tour, acting and speaking his blood pressure began to spike and also showed early symptoms of diabetes partnered with intense fatigue. In order to combat these ailments he developed Jal Gua and the results were tremendous. His blood pressure lowered, he had energy to perform and felt revitalized and rejuvenated. Jal Gua is a dietary supplement for vegans, vegetarians and health conscious individuals. Designed for the socially conscious consumer, Jal Gua is the first product Emmanuel Jal has ever launched on the Kickstarter platform.

Jal Gua (to walk with peace) is an instant powder super food created by former child soldier and international hip hop artist Emmanuel Jal. Jal Gua contains a blend of two staple African ingredients: sorghum and moringa. (Moringa comes from the moringa tree, also known as drumstick tree or horseradish tree, moringa trees grow quickly, reaching a height of between 15 and 30 feet within just a few years. The leaves, fruit flowers and immature pods of the tree are eaten as nutritious foods.) Jal Gua is high in iron and an excellent source of Vitamin C, containing 7 essential nutrients: iron, copper, phosphorus, Vitamin A, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin, fiber and calcium. Once Jal Gua is on the market, part of the proceeds from the sales of Jal Gua go towards supporting his activism work.
Once Jal Gua is released on the market, purchases will have direct impact on Gua Africa, an educational charity in East Africa also founded by Emmanuel Jal.

Risks and challenges
Our biggest challenge is gathering the finances to launch the product into the market to the highest standard.
We have created a project that strengthens bodies and strengthens lives but currently we are not in the financial position to employ industry experts and marketers to launch the product with the impact we would like. This kickstarter will greatly help as a solution to this problem. Emmanuel Jal will also be working tirelessly to promote this product. He has a large number of upcoming media appearances, concerts, festivals and campaigns coming up that will be used as a platform to promote this product and get his fans excited.
Emmanuel Jal created and believes in this product and he has a small team of people who will make massive efforts to make Jal Gua a market success!
