YIKES is a dark comedy from writer/director Michael Fodera which tells the story of Ian, a struggling young actor in a bleak urban setting who is given the ability to see very short distances into the future. We watch Ian's transformation from a lethargic and indifferent character into someone who decides to take control of his own path, not because of his personal principles but for the sake of his own survival.
There are several influences going into this film but the greatest one has to be, The Twilight Zone. The most successful episodes of that series deals with the human condition and how when one tiny, minor or seemingly insignificant thing goes awry, the entire world around it is instantly jilted. This is our aim when telling the story of Ian who receives a call from his agent about an upcoming audition and the events that follow. In order to tell story correctly, we really need to have the right resources and crew members available to us. And this is where our Kickstarter campaign comes in.
The amount of effort and coordination needed on a film set is typically overlooked. Many people might not realize that when you are making a film, you not only need actors and a script but you need cinematographers, producers, hair & makeup, camera assistants, gaffers, grips, high-end equipment, lenses, lighting, and those are just for the production end of it. When it comes to post-production you need an editor, sound mixer, musical score, colorist, etc. And even after that, the submission fees for film festivals are not cheap. To put it simply: film production costs money and it costs even more to do it right. Every cent is going toward the hard working people who populate a film set to make the project to the best of their abilities.

Risks and challenges
You would be hard pressed to find a team of filmmakers who claim that, "Successful Kickstarter Funding = A Finished Film" because the funding is only half the battle. Thankfully the crew we'll be working with are seasoned professionals who are really good at what they do.
On set, panic gets you nowhere and when faced with those little hurdles that can (and always will) come up while filming, our crew is more than prepared to deal with them and still knock the project out of the park. We face the same risks and challenges that every other production does and we will overcome those obstacles by not only using the Kickstarter funding for Plan A, but by making sure there is a Plan B, C and D right behind it because Murphy's Law can be a real pain the neck!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
