About this project
"Straight Wedding" will be my first feature-length film, and will be the sequel to the above movie, "Straight Lines." I'm raising funds for this movie because with no budget, "Straight Lines" won second place in a student film festival, and I believe with some help, I can make a feature-length movie that will do even better.
I believe I have a unique and creative setting, entertaining characters who will tell a funny yet touching story, and an audience who will help make the film a success. Contributing to this film will help me rent a location for the main scene, help me rent or purchase outfits for the wedding scenes, and possibly pay my actors who will be giving their time for this project.
I believe in the Kevin Smith philosophy of making a film with your friends and writing what you want, not what a studio says you should. I've been a writer for a long time, and I believe in this project.
Risks and challenges
With a bigger cast, it will be more difficult to get everyone in the same place and time. It will also be challenging to have a location and treat it like a real wedding, because essentially we will be setting it up like one. This is obviously a work in progress, and something that you are helping get off the ground. I assure you that this project is my baby, and I will do all I can to make it a success.
The main star of the movie is a very busy model who has recently had a bit role in the upcoming Scorsese movie, so coordinating schedules, especially with renting outfits for the main wedding scenes, will be the most difficult part. The setbacks that I may face mostly surround that, but the first movie in this respect got done in 18 days, and this time I'll have a lot more help, support, and hopefully funding in order to make this a success.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
