Let's Get Physical!

My brother taught himself the guitar by playing along with the tablature in a book of Chuck Berry sheet music. So it seems fitting that the premiere of Johnny Physical Lives be held in the city where Chuck Berry (“the poet laureate of rock ’n’ roll”) came of age. Johnny Physical Lives will screen as part of the documentary shorts program of the St. Louis International Film Festival on Monday, November 9 at 5 p.m. at the historic Tivoli Theatre (6350 Delmar Boulevard, St. Louis, MO 63130). I will be there for the screening along with one of the film’s co-producers, Jeremy Wang-Iverson. Undoubtedly, we will be thinking of Jonathan throughout our time in St. Louis, but we will also be thinking of you because without your generosity, patience, and inspiration, this film would not have been possible. You made it possible for me to close a chapter in my life and helped me canonize my brother’s ongoing legend. So, thank you.

For information about future screenings elsewhere, please ‘like’ the film on Facebook and while you’re there, watch the film’s official trailer. Feel free to share it as you share Jonathan’s story.
