Shipping Complete, plus new release: Somebody Will Teaching Collection
On Monday we sent out or last shipment, an set of extra packages to replace the few that went astray in the mail after the first shipping session. If you are still waiting for items to arrive, please let me know, so we can make sure to track down what has happened and get things safely into your hands.
Meanwhile, I am delighted to announce a very special new release, posted on our Bandcamp page this evening: a Teaching Collection for our most beloved song, "Somebody Will".
This collection contains three new recordings of the piece. First, a new duet recording, performed by Ada Palmer and Lauren Schiller, made with the improved recording equipment we acquired with Kickstarter funds. Second, a digitally remastered version of the live version that we all sang together as the encore finale to the Sundown debut at Balticon. Third, a live recording of the duet with guitar, recorded at a house concert last summer. It also contains versions of the duet taken apart, one highlighting the melody and the other the harmony, to make them easy to learn. All these tracks are streaming free online, but if you buy the download it also contains PDFs of the lyrics sheet, guitar chords, and sheet music.
This teaching collection is a Digital Preorder. If you buy the collection, you will get the five current tracks instantly, but we hope to add one more track by the end of the summer, a polished studio recording of the duet with guitar, since the house concert version is passionate but not as pristine as a studio recording. When we add this extra track, everyone who has already bought the album will receive an e-mail notifying you to download the extra track for free.
This is the first of several new projects we hope to release this summer, building forward from what your support helped us begin. Lauren and Ada also have several concerts coming up, performing together as the duo "Sassafrass: Trickster and King," at Mythcon and Worldcon (see the schedule here). So look forward to more news and releases in the coming weeks, and, once again, we can't thank you enough!
