Update 8/11/12 - Last day guys!! Let's try to hit that next stretch goal. Also if you haven't yet, check out this kickstarter preview video from Tom Vasel of The Dice Tower!:
The world of Mage Tower awaits...
Mage Tower is a tower defense card game for 2-4 players that combines the frenzy of tower defense games with the replayability and customization of fantasy card games. No randomized packs- buy one box and get all the cards!
In Mage Tower, each player fights off hordes of monsters with their own deck made up of an assortment from over 170 unique cards.
Making your deck is fast and furious- grab some cards from the 170 draftable cards, then take turns with the other players picking the ones you want for your deck. When drafting your deck, focus on card synergy, cool combos, balanced energy costs, and always pay attention to what cards your opponent is getting!
Hordes of monsters are constantly attacking you and your opponents. Use your unique spells and abilities to help and hinder other players. Try to be the last mage standing!
Mage Tower uses classic fantasy style artwork that is 100% from the public domain. We looked through thousands and thousands of images to get the look we wanted for the cards. After over 5 months of development, design, and playtesting pretty much everything is finished, though we are finishing up the rulebook and game box art.
The rulebook is still in its early stages, but can be viewed here:
Here at Super Mega Games we thank you for your support, and keep checking back for frequent updates!

Detailed Components Info
The game will come with a game box, rulebook, 304 cards, the promo card, 16 dice, 24 glass beads, and 300 card sleeves. The game is being made on a budget without bulk ordering. With that in mind, let me go over the specs of the components:
-The cards are being printed on 100lb card stock and cut with a craft cutter. Craft cutters are expensive and accurate; the card stock is locked in place in a "die" which cuts the cards into the correct shape every time.
-The dice are typical 16mm six-sided dice you'd find in a game like Yahtzee. I hate mini-sized dice so these are just good old fashioned normal dice. You will get some white dice and some colored dice.
-The game box is a cardboard trading card/baseball card box with sticker paper on it that has the Mage Tower artwork applied to it. Nothing fancy, but it cuts the cost of the box by 80% and still looks good.
-The card sleeves are clear plastic "penny sleeves". Most games don't come with sleeves, but I feel like they really add something and make the cards easier to shuffle. The game comes with 300 sleeves and 304 cards-- but there are 10 cards you don't need to sleeve.
-The glass beads are typical small glass beads you'd find in a game store. They are a little smaller than a dime.
-The rulebook is not nailed down yet, but it will exist, and hopefully be printed on some nice magazine-like paper.
-The game mats for the $6000 stretch goal are made of thin card stock, and the $55 and $180 levels will four unique playmats total including two that can't be gotten at the other levels.
If you have any questions or advice on the components ask a question or message me!
EDIT: The Kickstarter project was funded way faster than I thought! It's July 16th today, I'll start contacting people about putting their faces on cards and designing cards within the next week or so. It's okay if you don't reply right away, I'll make sure everyone gets their rewards!
