Well that would depend on who was directing! But as a work of literature I would say an MPAA rating of PG-13 or BBFC rating of 15. There is violence but its not gratuitous. I think a better comparison would be to say nothing worse than what you might see on prime time network television. There are two characters slated to die but these are integral to the narrative and I don't make a point of glorifying violence.
