Since the release of our four-song demo "Suck Berry" in May of 2015, we have been building towards getting our next full length onto vinyl. "Bring Back Bush" (a moniker coined in the summer of that year) came to be our most ambitious undertaking to date. It began with a shift in attitude towards the recording process and a determination to push the limits. With the guidance of Oliver Ignatius, the mastermind behind Mama Coco's Funky Kitchen (MCFK), we took our time to discover, experiment, and relax into the development of each song and the album as a whole.
In April 2016, with the album nearly completed, Daniel McLane, one of our three main songwriters and the de-facto leader of our ensemble, suddenly passed away. Despite feeling lost, heartbroken and confused, the remaining seven of us doubled down our efforts to finish "Bring Back Bush" with the care and love it deserved. His vision of a Lewinskies vinyl became our goal.
We spent over 216 hours recording at MCFK between May 2015 and May 2017, the cost of which was split evenly between us and subsidized by revenue from live gigs. In that time we've compiled 12 songs that we're extremely proud of. We hope that with your support we will have the opportunity to press "Bring Back Bush" onto vinyl and deliver to the world a spectacular physical copy of the greatest album we've ever made!
Risks and challenges
Manufacturing turnaround time is a potential issue, but we've made sure to plan ahead. If we do encounter any setbacks, we'll let you know immediately, however, nothing will deter us from completing the record and delivering what we've promised.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
