Update on the Silver Monkey (Art Backer)

Dear Silver Monkeys,

This update is for you. Looking at your reward level I feel it’s a bit sparse – a pdf + POD copy + the option to suggest an illustration. Well I’m changing that right now.

As well as your option to sponsor or suggest a piece of art within the book, which I’ll contact you about at the end of the campaign, I’m also going to send you a printed version of your suggested or sponsored art on art card (I’m currently thinking A4 size) and an electronic version of the art for personal use only.

In addition, you’ll get the following as prints on art card.

Peter Frain’s Monkey Triptych, which is a series of three pictures of the Monkey King at each of the three stages of the character’s life. The First piece is Stone Monkey being born from the cosmic egg. The second piece Monkey as he appears during the Journey to the West (and on the banner of this Kickstarter page) with his iron staff and tiger skin. The final piece is Monkey at the end of the Journey to the West when he’s been granted Buddhahood and given the title of Victorious One!

From Dan Barker, you’ll get prints of his interpretation of the Four Pilgrims. Monkey with his skateboard cloud and Tripitaka on his mount, its true nature being revealed in the shadow being cast on the cave wall. As for his version of Pigsy and Sandy you’ll have to wait and see, since Dan is still working on those.

To summarise:

  • An art print and electronic copy for personal use of the illustration you suggest or sponsor.
  • Art prints of Peter Frain’s Monkey Triptych (3 pieces)
  • Art prints of Dan Barker’s Four Pilgrims set (4 Pieces)

That’s a total of eight art prints + an electronic copy of your individual piece for your own use.

Please note just to be clear the Golden Monkey (£100 get it all) backer level also gets these set of rewards. Enjoy!

PS. We are £146 away from Stretch Goal 3 The Ministry of Thunder, which according to the Great Oracle of Kickstarter is 7 average backers!
