What You Get...
We will design, print and deliver (via a brown truck...or maybe blue) a custom artwork limited edition T-shirt (or four) in time for the 2nd annual Kitsap Mini Maker Faire (10 June 2012). Our multi-generational team of skilled craftsmen will produce them entirely by hand using a screen press that was scratch-built by Caleb last year.

The Problem...
Last year we made "staff" and "event" T-shirts for the Kitsap Mini Maker Faire (all the shirts sold out) but we soon realized that the need to allow the ink to dry and then iron the shirts was tying our shoelaces together. Ironing "sets" the ink and keeps the evil washing machine from removing the ink from your shirt along with the dirt. The more enlightened way (than ironing) is to use a "flash" curing unit which is effectively like giving the shirt a free tanning session. (We are still verifying if the Vitamin D levels of the shirts that undergo this process.)

Printing T-shirts
The Solution...
This year we need your support to fund the purchase of a flash curing unit so that we can streamline the cottage industry production line (i.e. eliminate drying time and free us from the mindless ironing board). Your generous support will fund procurement of the flash curing unit, the T-shirts, the design effort and shipping to your door. Making T-shirts for this event (and you) is important to us but we also want to MAKE other stuff (both for fun and to share at the Kitsap Mini Maker Faire). By backing this project, not only will you be getting a one of a kind t-shirt (or four), but you will be freeing us up to work harder on these projects...a homebuilt CNC router, a first person view (FPV) tri-copter and a custom "machined-from-aluminum-billet"watch (keep and eye on www.kitsapmaker.com for updates on all our projects).

Progress So Far...
We need your support for the flash curing unit but, we already have the machine...

The muscle...

and the graphic designs are almost finished. Here is a preview so you can start coordinating the rest of your wardrobe.

The Team...
Caleb Rexin, an 18 year old starving (not really since he still lives at home) artist, leads the team. His grandpa, Gordon, provides technical oversight and oh-so valuable experience. The rest of the team includes Danny ("Put that tri-copter down..."), Wendy (the only one who remembers the important stuff), Caleb's dad (fills in with manual labor) and Seth (makes sure that we all have a "Hank the Cow Dog" audio CD playing in the background).
