UPDATE: Working to add a new building, The Inn, to "The Everything" bundle. I have decided to try and complete an additional design, both un-broken and a broken version. If I can complete them before the campaign is done, I will add them to "the Everything" bundle at no extra pledge required. See updates for more details.
Doc’s 3D printable buildings represent a new way to tabletop game. Created to support games like Warhammer, 40K, Mordheim, Dungeons & Dragons, and others, each design is delivered in a .stl format. At the end of the campaign, all supporters will be provided a link to download the appropriate bundle. Once you have the files, you can print as many pieces as you like with no need to ever purchase more. Printed in durable plastic, the buildings are easily painted and should last through years of gaming. These buildings represent over two years of design and test printing, and come with assembly instructions and pictures to guide your work.
Why 3D printable buildings? I am a gamer, like all of you. For the last 16 years, I have hosted an annual Mordheim campaign at my house with either 8 or 12 players (Thank you Mrs. Doc for all the wonderful snacks!). I have made buildings for Mordheim out of plastic kits, cardboard, and plaster. However, those buildings were breaking over time, and often limited in playability and in access to the interior. So two years ago I bought a 3D printer, got a hold of some CAD software, and started designing buildings. The first few didn’t work as well as I had hoped. But over time I figured out what worked, the designs evolved, and the pictures you see are of play-tested terrain. I hope you like it.
To date, all of the files for the broken versions of buildings are complete (these are the buildings we use in Mordheim). Most of the files for the un-broken versions of the buildings are complete, but need a little cleaning up. For the broken buildings, all designs assume the roof shingles will be glued to the building because there are ample openings (damage) to access the upper floor. For the un-broken versions, I am designing a roof support that slides into the top of the upper floor. Glue the roof shingles to it, and they are easily removed for building access. I will be spending most of the campaign time packaging the files with pictures and assembly instructions for your use.
A unique feature of my designs is a tab and slot system which allows the floors of buildings to be aligned and held in place without glue. This means the floors are easily separated to enable easy access and movement of miniatures, and are quick to reassemble at any time.
The video below demonstrates the utility of this feature.
My designs have been grouped together in bundles, adding more designs with each pledge level. NOTE: Pieces will be delivered as digital STL files for you to create with your 3D printer.

This project will be completed on time. All of the .stl files have been created or are in the final touches. The main task is bundling all of the files so that others understand how to use them.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
