The story of Dreary continues as Jack and Tino, race against time to uncover the secrets of a mysterious town they cannot escape.
Welcome back to Dreary (or welcome for the first time). We recently published the first issue of the comic book series THE DEVIL IS DUE IN DREARY with the wonderful help of our Kickstarter supporters. We are hard at work on issues 2-4 and are once again asking for your support! In exchange for your support we are offering cool rewards that include signed copies of the comic, getting your name printed in a special thanks section in the back of the book, owning an original page of artwork from the book or even getting drawn into the book as a character and many more rewards...
To recap issue #1
Two strangers with a questionable past arrive in the reclusive town of Dreary and unknowingly fulfill a prophecy the town believes will precede the coming of the apocalypse.
In issues 2-4, as the day progresses, Jack and Tino start to understand the reason for their cold reception and the town of Dreary begins to learn that Jack and Tino are not who they claim to be.
As the sun sets...
...tension rises to a breaking point.
After a devastating turn of events, Marshal and the people of Dreary believe that killing Jack and Tino is the only way to avoid what they believe to be the coming of the apocalypse.
The countdown to sunrise comes to an end, and we learn who is right and who is dead in these, the final installments of in The Devil Is Due In Dreary.
Classic cars, pompadours and rock-n-roll meet the folklore of the American southwest in this rockabilly take on the classic western.
The history of our project dates back to David Parkin's (our creator) childhood growing up in the Southwest and hearing tales of the Devil. David and I met at the IFP Filmweek in 2008 where I read David's screenplay for THE DEVIL IS DUE IN DREARY and we decided to work together.
David and I chose to make a comic book first to introduce the story to its fans (you guys) in a very cool way and create a fan base that we anticipate will be excited to see the movie as well!
We partnered with Ardden Entertainment to publish the book. David and I vetted many artists before choosing an immensely talented group: Alex Sanchez (covers), Allan Jefferson (pencils), Jonas Trindade (inks), Rainer Pretter (colors) and Rich Emms (lettering).
Once the comic series is finished David and I will begin our work on the film version (you can be an Associate Producer or Co-Executive Producer of the film which includes exclusive visits to the set, your name in the credits and a first hand experience in seeing a film shoot - check out the opportunity in the rewards to the right).
Thank you in advance for your interest. Your support will help us to finish the comic book series and bring the complete tale of Dreary to you!
