Hi! We’re Saint Ophelia, a band based on Vashon Island, just outside of Seattle. We’re about to make our first recording and we’re asking for your financial support to make it a success.
We will be recording in April & May with Martin Feveyear. Martin is a friend and accomplished producer. Check out his creds! Martin started doing live sound for us last year, including a house concert we did in this amazing setting in October.
Martin had the brilliant idea for us to record our album here, and thanks to the graciousness of our friends Robert and Helen, that's what's going to happen! We'll set up shop here to record all the bed tracks, and then add some guest spots back at Martin's studio.
Here is Martin at the helm of his mighty ship of dials.
Martin will engineer, produce and master the record, and we'll do a short run of CDs that we'll sell at gigs and online, as well as releasing it through all the usual streaming options (spotify, pandora, apple music etc.). We are asking for your support not only to pay for the recording, mastering and printing, but also for some radio promotion.
So... who is in this band, you might ask, and how did it come to be? Around a year ago, Rebekah Bevilacqua Kuzma and Joseph Panzetta performed a set together on KVSH 101.9 FM, and sparks flew.
This is Mr. Panzetta...
...and this is Miss Bevilacqua.
The magic continued when the best rhythm section one could hope for joined them, Michael Marcus on bass and Wesley Peterson on drums.
This guy, behind the bass, that's Michael Marcus.
And you guessed it, this is Wesley Peterson.
When Dan Tyack, pedal steel magician, joined the ensemble, well... the shit got real.
Here is the afore mentioned, Mr. Tyack, laying down some truth on the strings. The guy has it going on. Just saying.
So anyway, that's the story. We have been on a magic carpet ride this past year, and are hoping you will be a part of the next chapter.
Risks and challenges
Hmmm, what are the risks and challenges of making this recording? I suppose a challenge will be making it sound as good as we want it to be.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
