About
The goal of this project is to explain the conceptions of time and space of ancient Mayans through photography. Thanks to the media, the Mayan calendar has gained a lot of attention in the last few years and the 2012-end of times-phenomenon has created a growing misconception about the ancient Maya culture. The exhibit will explain academically backed information about Mayan mythology and its influence over their calendar, architecture, writing and painting and why 2012 is so important.
The layout of the exhibit will be similar to a regular museum exhibit, and it will let those attending to better understand the Mayan cosmology. The information presented will be academically supported and simplified for a wider audience. The funds will be used for the printing and display of the material; which will include over a 150 images and 10 life size prints of actual Mayan monuments.
This is my first Kickstarter project! so any suggestions and questions are welcomed!
The exhibit will be presented the week after Thanksgiving
