A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Functional Prototype
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Appearance Prototype
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Design Prototype
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.
Production Prototype
Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.

These photos and videos provide a detailed look at this project’s development.
Tired of manually or mentally counting your jumps during your training sessions? Want to improve your scores, track your progress, and compete with friends? Tally Jump is made for you! Designed by Tori Boggs, multiple time World Jump Rope Champion and Record Holder, Tally Jump provides the best jump rope training experience while using your own rope!
Use your own rope with Tally Jump

As simple as a standard fitness tracker : place the Tally Jump under your shoelaces, start the app and jump!
The Tally Jump sensor is small (L: 1.96in / 50mm x W: 1.18in / 30mm x H: 0.51in / 13mm) and light (roughly 0.46oz / 13g).
As shown below, we have designed a specific motion sensor to count your jumps and a flat plastic case to be able to place the sensor under your shoelaces. It works with a CR2032 coin cell (up to 1 year battery life) and the Tally Jump is delivered with a spare coin cell so you won't have to wait for one to recharge before you can start jumping again.

Tally Jump teammates, Arnaud & Remi, have supplemented the industrialization of the project, giving us a realistic timeline. The first Tally Jump units are expected in November while the remaining products will be ready for the winter holidays.
Tally Jump team
After years in the jump rope world, Tori and Cyrille identified a huge problem with no solution. There was no way to count jumps with precision and there was no personal training tool for speed and power. With a concept in mind, Tori and Cyrille started taking action to make it real. Upon finding Thibaut, a software engineer, they began working on the jump rope algorithm for the first prototypes. After a year of software development and with the work of our iOS expert Mathieu Vandeginste, they found Rémi and Arnaud, seasoned industrialization specialists, who helped with the creation and production of the sensor and start the company. Now the team is ready to launch the Kickstarter and bring Tally Jump to the world!
Our meticulously studied Kickstarter goal is to produce a reasonable quantity of Tally Jump's that would decrease the cost per unit and keep the total amount as low as possible. A large allocation of the cost is for the tooling and production materials. We will also finalize the app. The required certifications are expensive but necessary. And, as we believe in continued growth and expansion for jump rope, we have reserved a small amount to start the research & development of our Tally Jump plans for the future.
Risks and challenges
The industrialization process is challenging. There are always a few surprises with the first production units. Fortunately, Remi & Arnaud are used to it, having led the industrialization process for tens of tech startups.
The Tally Jump sensor with a Kickstarter special price. Four color silicon caps are included (light blue, yellow, red, dark blue) so that you are able to change it depending on your mood. Unlimited quantity.
An afternoon with Tori as a special coach! She will teach you all about Tally Jump and give you some additional jump rope piece of advice. Limited to 5 people so that each one has his own sensor! Travel expenses are not included.
