It finally hit me today. I was shopping for a birthday card and as I was browsing I saw a card that had a little solitary stick figure standing on top of a mountain and it read “Congratulations! You did it!” I was tempted to buy the card and send it to myself. I know - kind of dorky - but it did not hit me until that moment that the book is basically finished. I have completed my second book! WOW!!!

I am long overdue for an update for all you lovely Kickstarter supporters. That fact has been weighing on me, but nerves of last minute changes and plain old fatigue have stopped me from writing. But let me just say to you now - it is official! Modern Origjnals: At Home with Midcentury European Designers is off to the printers and on schedule for an April 1, 2014 release date! I am thrilled and cannot wait for you all to see this book!

Lots happened in those last stages of writing/making the book - most notably a minor case of writers block - but all that is just a memory. The book is on press and we are now in the process of getting press checks to make sure that every image looks as beautiful as I intended.

Below is a peek from the first press check and then todays, second check. It is almost there!

More soon!

PS - On another exciting note, today I am off to Tokyo for a show of some of my selected images from both Handcrafted Modern and Modern Originals at Play Mountain in Shibuya. If you are in Tokyo this Thursday, Nov 7, please come by and say hello at my opening. I’d love to see you!  : )

Press check one, checking all images against my match prints.

Its about time! What's taking so long? It's like you've been on a European holiday or something. . .
