Hello there Kickstarter Friends!

Just wanted to let you know about the last two scheduled book signings for Modern Originals, this time in Los Angeles. This coming Saturday, June 21, I will be doing not one, but two events!

  • 2-3pm Book signing at the Dwell on Design Conference at the LA Convention Center.
  • 7-9pm Book signing and slideshow at General Store in Venice (1800 Lincoln Blvd. x Superba).

The evening event should be super fun. General Store is one of my favorite shops (and great friends) so it will be a special night. We'll have some drinks  I'll share some images of the houses and tell stories of shooting these amazing homes - like how my favorite chairs in the Aalto's home (in the pic) were not even designed by them! Honestly, the slideshow is one of my favorite ways to share the project, so I hope all you Angelenos can come out for it. And if you do, come up and say hello! Looking forward to meeting more of you!  : )

June 5 - you are invited! Modern Originals Booksigning and Slideshow at the Heath Ceramics SF.

Hello Dear Friends,

Just wanted to invite all you to a very special Modern Originals book event in San Francisco this Thursday night, June 5. Many months ago I did a slideshow at Heath Ceramics beautiful San Francisco factory in support of this very Kickstarter campaign and on Thursday we come full circle and celebrate Modern Originals release! It is going to be a lot of fun so I hope all you Bay Area folks can come out and join me. I'll be doing a slideshow at around 7:30 and signing books all evening. And if you want your copy of Handcrafted Modern signed, bring that with you and I'll sign that too!

I look forward to meeting you!

Hello Kickstarter Friends!

Just wanted to check in with you and see how you are enjoying Modern Originals. They should be arriving to a majority of you if they haven't already.

For my European supporters, books will be mailed out next week when I get to London, since that is where they were shipped. Sorry for the delay.

And there are a few of you that I never received a response to the Kickstarter survey that was mailed out on 3/23/14. Without a response to this survey with your mailing address I cannot send you your book! So check your spam filters, junk mail folders and old email and fill it out and send it in! I am traveling on a book tour in Europe and NY until the last week in May. So when I return, I will autograph and send these last books out and all will be complete!

Thank you so much for your support. It was invaluable in making Modern Originals a reality.

Best,

Leslie

Hello Kickstarter Friends,

Today is the official release day for Modern Originals! We made it!

I am so excited and proud of the result and look forward to hearing what you think when you see the book in person. In the meantime here is an image of the cover from my advance copy.

The rest of the rewards will be going out very soon and you will receive a separate email regarding details on that so keep an eye on your inbox. And if you cannot wait to see inside the book, the NYTimes did a nice piece on the book today (yes, I am overjoyed!!!). So click here to see the article.

Thank you all again for your wonderful support.

Best,

Leslie
