Life Gives Me Lemons: Adventures in Bad Luck & Bold Misfortune is the book you would get if Jon Krakauer and Nora Ephron threw a party where Chelsea Handler bartended while Tucker Max hit on all your cute friends. It's "Californication" meets "Sports Night", but all the stories are true.
Ever laugh at another person's misfortune? Sure, we all do. The Germans even have a word for it: Schadenfreude, which loosely means finding pleasure in another person's misery.
Life Gives Me Lemons: Adventures in Bad Luck & Bold Misfortune is the full-length book chock full of epic Schadenfreude moments from my outdoor sports misadventures based roughly off my existing blog of the same name.
Right your karma in this world by picking out the best pledge level to help me publish Life Gives Me Lemons as a book. Yes, I'm selling karma indulgences here, people. The Catholics banned them at the Council of Trent in 1567, but you can get one right here, right now... or for the next 3 days, at least.
Anyone with a computer can publish a book these days, so why don't I simply create a cheap e-book and go from there? My friends and colleagues who know me best will tell you I never do anything halfway, from running myself over with my own car to triggering avalanches at ski resorts. I go full bore. Beast mode. I am not just attempting to crowdfund in order to see my name on a piece of writing. I already have plenty of that. Really, check out my portfolio. I am asking for your support so that I can create a book that is professionally edited (like all quality writing should be), printed in both paperback and hardcover (because, yes, people still like to hold physical books in their hands, maybe even more so than Kindles and iPads), and publicized so that I can sell copies to people other than my friends and loved ones who buy them merely out of obligation.
Restore the faith of the world in publishing quality prose for the sheer purpose of entertainment, right your karma, and get a cool postcard, t-shirt, book, or ski lesson in the process. Can you kick[starter] it?
