For years I have been thinking that there should be a nordic chiptune festival. A while back I bought a small farmhouse on the Danish island Bornholm, and while I was at it I bought a sound system to have loud parties. I figured I didn't really need much more to get started and asked around for people who wanted to play at it. Then it became a bit viral and suddenly people from all over Europe (and a few outside it too) wanted to play or contribute in some other way. This was all great, but that many people means a little more infrastructure is needed. There will be tickets sold later on, but many people seemed keen on a kickstarter so here it is.
Here is a map of the lovely festival area. If weather looks good, we plan on having a semi outdoor stage (pink), if it looks like it will rain it will move further into a barn. There will also be a second stage that will be fully indoors and only lit up with lighting and projectors. The green area is where vegan food and drink will be served, purple is general lounge. There are two areas in light blue for camping, one right next to everything for people who don't sleep too much, and then one area further away for people who like some peace and quiet at night.
For a complete list of artists (it's pretty long, and pretty exciting!), I recommend the facebook event.
I've set it at 10000 minimum, and that is pretty much a bare minimum for what I expect to need to put up two stages with minimal lighting, and toilets (the big expense at this point really). More money means better sound, better lights, cooler decorations, maybe cold drinks and some travelling expenses for artists. The toilets will probably stay the same though.
There will also be a few nonmusical artists at the festival to sell their stuff, like Gleeetch (who also makes rewards through the kickstarter):
Risks and challenges
There aren't that many risks atually. Venue is in place, there is one sound system. Some kind of event will happen. With money it will be more memorable. The video shows how it looks and sounds at 0 kr and no work put in.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
