The Brighton University Drama Society (BUDS) was formed in 2006 and
has since been devoted to putting on excellent theatre. All of our shows are produced and performed by Students. We make use of the huge pool of talent within Brighton University to make our shows as professional as possible. We are, of course, limited by finance. All the money we make goes into booking theatres, set, props and costumes
We are using Kickstarter as part of a wider fund-raising campaign and the money we raise here we be used on set, props and costumes. We have a cast of around thirty people and it is difficult to manage with so many people on such a tight budget but we have always made it work in the past.
The Pratchett universe has a huge following and we need financial support to do its fans justice. We want to make everyone's favourite characters from Death to Cutwell to look just right. We want our audience's imagination to join us on the Discworld.
Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
The only challenges we face at this stage of the productions are issues with props and set. As long as we can raise enough money to cover their cost: we're going to be able to put on our best show ever.
