My name is Cori Robinson, and two years ago I created my own indie clothing line, Corilynn.
I love real lemonade, oversized balloons, and dresses with pockets. I don’t think you can have too much frosting on a cupcake, and I believe that everyday can be magic. I believe in the power of a beautiful dress.
I think that the clothes we wear have the power to change our day, even our life. They can change the way we see ourselves and the people around us. They can be an outward expression of who we are.
Who doesn’t feel great when they get up in the morning and put on something that makes them feel good in their own skin; that makes them feel confident? I started designing my own clothes years ago when I was looking for something that I couldn't find in any store. The design process was amazing, and fun and so liberating. I was completely hooked. I started making pieces for myself and family and friends and before long it gave me an idea. Maybe there were lots of women looking for the same thing I was:
Clothes that were designed timeless, with clean cuts and great silhouettes that flattered real women, that were made to last and fun to wear. Clothes that helped women feel beautiful in their own skin.
I took a chance, my husband and I pulled out our savings and we made a batch with our first design. The response was incredible. Everything sold out, and so we started making more. We’ve been growing our line, one design at a time ever since, bootstrapping our way forward.
Now we need your help.
We are ready to offer our first full line of designs. Our new designs are so much fun; I get excited just thinking about them. The dresses have a great clean cut, and are made to flatter women in just the right spots (hello natural waist!). Our skirts are bright and cheerful, and our new blouses are so whimsical they’re kind of a party to wear. Check out our rewards below and pick out something pretty for yourself or someone you love! (rewards offered in sizes 0-12) Backing this project will help us manufacture our new line, and grow our dream.
Made in the USA
When we started looking into creating a clothing line, a lot of people suggested we go oversees looking for manufacturing, but we knew that if we were going to follow our own American dream that we wanted to make our clothes right here in the USA.
We believe in American Made products and we are so excited to play a tiny role in the grassroots resurgence of American manufacturing.
We love our manufacturer, they’re more like family now, and we feel like that’s the way it should be. It’s so much fun working with people who believe in the power of great design, who are artists in their field, who take pride in quality, and who view clothing design and construction as a craft and not just a job. Back this project and help us bring beautiful American Made products to life.
Risks and challenges
We’ve been working with our manufacturer and our fabric suppliers for over two years, and we think we’ve mitigated most of the risks inherent with clothing construction. The designs, fabric and process have been tried and tested. As with all projects, we are very conscious that things often seem to take longer than anticipated; however we are working closely with our manufacturer and fabric suppliers to streamline the process and prevent any hiccups before they occur, to try and ensure we meet our projected delivery dates without compromising our high quality standards.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
