For the past few years, we've been photographing the best of Africa's wildlife using an array of groundbreaking photographic techniques including remote controlled buggies, hidden cameras and quadcopters. In Africa on Safari, we present more than 140 of our most compelling images along with the story behind each photo.
In the Behind the Lens section of the book we provide invaluable advice about how to get the most from an African safari; tips about the best areas to visit, how to select a great guide, what you'll need in your medical kit, the best camps, when to travel, how to get around and much more.
Photography isn't our primary source of income, so we are happy to reveal all of our photographic secrets enabling you to get better images when you head off on safari.
This project is a labour of love that has seen us traverse Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Rwanda in search of Africa's most amazing wildlife and now you can own a copy of this large format (32cm x 26cm), glossy picture book.
Chances are you've seen our images in newspapers, magazines and on the net. Already, magazines like BBC Wildlife, South Africa's Getaway and Australia's Digital Photography have praised the book's unique content.
This sumptuous 204-page compendium will provide a marvellous snapshot of Africa, preserving its untamed beauty and raw emotion forever. From the brutality of the food chain to playful shots of animals at their most uninhibited. From majestic sunrises and sunsets to brooding landscapes, there is no greater theatre than nature itself.
In order to get this project to market, we need your support and that’s why we’ve chosen Kickstarter. Contributing via one of the Kickstarter options will make a difference, as will sharing this page with your friends and family.
We know you’ll adore Africa on Safari, and so will those you choose to gift the book to. By backing this Kickstarter project you'll not only receive your book/s prior to launch, you'll enjoy regular progress reports and behind the scenes videos.
Risks and challenges
UK-based company Papadakis Publisher has agreed to publish and distribute the 204-page book throughout the UK and USA once the Kickstarter goal has been achieved. We have the required number of images, a foreword written by the editor of Africa Geographic and significant interest from the media. The risk the project won't go ahead is low and you'll receive your books prior to the October 2015 release date.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
