Distinction Gallery is partnering with ArtHatch to make a difference in the lives of young established and young up and coming artists.
The funds will be used to launch the project, which includes obtaining 501(c)(3) status, giving the first artist a stipend, and promotional materials to get the word out.

Mission Statement of the foundation will be:
ArtHatch is a multi-faceted organization founded on the principles of creativity as a way of life and dedicated to being a welcoming, non traditional venue for young, established artists to gather. ArtHatch also provides young, aspiring artists a unique environment and experiential landscape from which they can grow, learn, and blossom. Through the nurturing and specialized experience of its founders, ArtHatch is uniquely positioned to deliver an artistic panorama of young artists’ work to society, thus enriching this arts loving community with the gift of youthful creativity.. This is the fundamental mission of ArtHatch and is accomplished by:

· Delivering frequent no cost exhibits each year featuring unique art created by young, established artists around the world coupled with charitable causes.
· Providing these young, established artists a stipend so they can attend exhibits, give lectures, and conduct live demonstrations.
· Funding and developing promotional materials to “expose” these young, established artists via catalogues, books, advertisements, and earned media.
· Funding a “Community Room” studio for young, aspiring artists to exhibit their art.
ArtHatch and its tableau of artistic deliverables is a collaboration between ArtHatch, the community, and the artists it represents and serves.

Escondido Mayor, Lori Holt Pfeiler, on Distinction Gallery bringing
ArtHatch to Escondido:

"Exposing young artists to work from around the world and an opportunity
to perform live demonstrations will add tremendously to the life
experiences of the young artists. The young artists will benefit
tremendously from the exposure to work from around the world, thereby
enhancing their dialogue about life. They will be exposed to a place
bigger than their own spot in Escondido"

Distinction is a 7000 square foot building housing over 15 gallery spaces: the front gallery, which changes monthly, "The Alley" featuring over 100 works from artists around the world, the "Lounge" featuring 8 local artists, and 14 artists studios ranging in size from 150 - 800 square feet featuring local artists. The Gallery features contemporary and cutting edge artwork with an emphasis on figurative pop and urban surrealism. With a focus on painting, the gallery exhibits work by emerging and internationally acclaimed artists. Distinction educates new buyers as well as selling to established galleries and private collectors around the world.

Each month hundreds of visitors including many teens visit Distinction Gallery. We help to fill the void left by taking art programs away from school budgets and connecting aspiring artists to established artists for art, conversation, and inspiration.
