About this project
Line Broken is a short film. Set in Victorian England with a steampunk kick to it.
The story evolves around 4 characters in the film.
Mint, Mathew, Ian and Hesus.
Mint is a starting alchemist who was raised by Mathew. Mathew is one of the ancient one's. Alongside Mint Mathew is raising Ian who is son of Hesus. Hesus is the evil schemer who wants to assemble the ultimate Alchemical Grimoire to control the powers of the universe. To stop Hesus Ian Mint and Mathew need to work together. Mint doesn't trust Ian because he is son of Hesus. Mathew wants to proceed with plan no matter what.
- Copper into Gold
To make the cogs work well we need a bit of oil and the right combination of the elements to translate the inscription into reality.
We have: crew, kit and script. Those are the cogs that are interacting and with the right mixture of elements around us we are making this project more possible by day. Truth to be told no one has had a day off in a very long time and there's more sleepless nights to come.
- The Elixir
To make the elixir of life we will need more than few drops of morning dew and the last ray of the evening sun.
We are professional team who knows the hard work on the set and our elixir of life is coffee.
- Portal to another dimension
The ultimate goal which very few have achieved and have kept it secret because now they have access to unlimited knowledge in worlds very much like ours.
Film is like a window into another world and I would like to invite you to join me on this journey to the world of Alchemy where everything is possible but the human nature is one cunning unpredictable mistress.
- Unlocking the powers of the Universe
The only thing that takes for evil to prevail is that good men do nothing.
This story will be broken up into two stand-alone stories.
One is going to be told through comic book and the later story will be told through the film.
This film will be sent off to short film festivals and will be available to you dear backers as digital copy or DVD.
You will see the film way before anyone else.
Production team:
We will reveal more info about the team and personal statements as we will progress through the upcoming month.
Sergejs Bozoks – Writer Director
Hi my name is Sergejs but you can call me Serg. I was born in USSR, grew up in Latvia and now I have been living in UK for nearly 8 years. I love storytelling. I was drawn to creating story world since I was a kid. In recent years I have changed my life completely going away from working for corporate sales companies to work in creative industries. As I come form Northern part of the world my stories are a bit dark. My stories are always mixture of Western storytelling and Russian storytelling as well as I'm a big fan of Nordic mythologies and stories.

Siân Lewis – Producer
In my experience of producing short films, I have never come across a project as ambitious and challenging as Line Broken. Naturally, we will face problems in production such as limited schedule and budget and I will tackle these issues head on. resolving them as creatively as I can utilising the resources we have available to us. By no means are we underestimating the scale of the project and have a very enthusiastic team working incredibly hard on bringing this story world to life.
Geoff Boyle – Cinematographer
I have always been excited about creating images and the technology to create those images. I'm still as excited about filming now, as I was when I started. http://www.gboyle.co.uk/
Craig O’Connor – First AC
Michal Jakosz – Camera
I’m a camera operator who specializes in shooting corporate and promotional videos, so I’m extremely excited to be given a chance to work on Line Broken to tell a longer story through visual means. I think that with the help of renowned Geoff Boyle pulling the strings as the DoP and having access to an abundance of industry-standard filming gear we are poised to create a cinematic masterpiece.

Risks and challenges
We have positive and strong team.
If we fail to get funding we won't be able to afford our dear actors and no one should work for free but as it often happens - Team will work for free.
Everyone on the team have booked their days off for the shooting period so there shouldn't be any problems with the crew.
We are still looking for few positions to be filled out but we have friends and family that could potentially help with little bits and bobs. Like who's going to brew the Alchemists pot when everyone will be busy lighting.
