About this project
The ezpz Less Mess Happy Mat is a patent pending invention by Lindsey Laurain. The mat is an integrated placemat and plate that self-seals to the table. The mats are FDA approved and BPA, PVC, lead and Phthalate-free (so they're safe for growing bodies). They are made from the best quality silicone available and pass the most rigid food safety testing standards (CPSIA Certified). Additionally, Happy Mats are dishwasher and microwave safe.
The Less Mess Happy Mat was designed to simplify the mealtime experience for kids and parents. Here's how:
A design for every meal
Durable construction makes serving food a snap
Silicone suction ensures that the placemat + plate stay on the table
The outer lip and flexible construction contain the mess and make the trip to the sink a breeze
Easy to rinse and dishwasher safe
Stackable for easy storage
The ezpz team has been working tirelessly on the Less Mess Happy Mat since the beginning of 2014. Thanks to a successful partnership with our manufacturing team we have tested and iterated on the product to find the right size, design and form. All silicone has passed CPSIA quality requirements and is FDA approved.
With your support we will be able to complete the final steps - order tooling and complete the first large-scale production run. If we can achieve our goal, the first Less Mess Happy Mats will ship to Kickstarter backers in December 2014, with full online availability starting in 2015.
Your support brings a simpler and happier mealtime to your table and to the tables of families around the world. Please consider backing this project or helping to spread the word by sharing our page.

Risks and challenges
The ezpz team feels confident that our preparation and partnerships will result in timely, full-scale production with minimal risk. We are working with a phenomenal manufacturer who has years of experience delivering high-quality products in large quantities.
Here are some setbacks that could arise:
Manufacturing: There is a possibility we will encounter challenges with the mold creation process. However, since CAD drawings are finalized and final samples are in hand we don't anticipate any issues with tooling.
Fulfillment: There is always the possibility that a supplier will miss a deadline, a machine breaks down, or a shipment gets lost. To minimize the possibility of manufacturing setbacks we have a stringent contract in place outlining production specifics (e.g., lead time).
Safety: Backers can rest assured that the testing requirements for child and food products have been completed to the highest standards and will be adhered to throughout the production process.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
