I am humbly asking for your help. The parts are assembled, we just need fuel.
I can't thank you enough for taking a few minutes to find out more about Rocket Club. We will be shooting this winter (Feb./March) here in Hawaii and on the beautiful coast of Maine. Having worked for years on multiple productions in Hawaii, I've maintained relationships with department heads that have offered me one time deals/favors on the use of equipment and services in order to produce Rocket Club. But we can not do this alone, we need you to join us on this journey.
By pledging to this project, YOU become the reason Rocket Club will come to life. Your pledge will go towards equipment rentals, securing locations to film, state film permits, hiring actors and crew members, travel from Hawaii to Maine to complete our shoot, post production (sound/video editors and equipment) and acquiring/producing music. We will be using a state of the art, digital camera package, and the exact same sound equipment that was used on shows like LOST and Last Resort by sound mixer, Bobby Anderson. Not to mention, the Emmy award winning Bobby Anderson himself!
All this and more is to ensure the production quality of Rocket Club is as good as any other film you might see in theaters next year. If you already like what you hear and want to embark on this journey with us, please don't forget to tell your friends on Facebook and Twitter about your pledge, spreading the word is crucial!

What IS Rocket Club?
Rocket Club is the semi-fictional story of Rick Brennan, a 27 year old surf instructor who's life is rapidly spiraling downward. He's a cynical, cocky, alcoholic who's drunken exploits cause him to frequent his local police station. Rather than confronting his haunted past, he covers it up with booze, drugs, girls and a few close friends that can't do much but watch him self destruct.
Just as Rick seems to hit rock bottom, two unlikely tourists (Weston and Rachel) and a homeless, beach dwelling, garbage eating mutt come on the scene. Weston is a 24 year old, overweight, rally-car mechanic who flew to the island on a whim after his father's funeral, only to be followed by his concerned friend, Rachel.
Their lives inadvertently, and humorously, collide with Rick's and the three of them begin to bond over the course of Weston and Rachel's visit, hanging out at different locations around the north shore of Oahu where they find/adopt a homeless mutt and meet Rick's entourage. Conor the lovable, stoner surf bum who wants to be more, Kalani and Naia, the young surf groms who live next door and constantly spy on Rick and Conor, monitoring their social lives, Uncle Keppa who owns the surf school where Rick teaches, and more. The main characters unknowingly begin helping each other to discover new things about themselves and the destructive lives they live.
We feel we have truly captured the "not so perfect," human process of healing in this drama/comedy. Rocket Club will surly be one you will remember for years, and want to share with others, not just for their entertainment, but because you helped produce it!

Bobby, why should we trust you?
Glad you asked. I have worked hard for years, to establish myself within the film community here in Hawaii. I've worked on multiple major network shows/movies as a camera crew member, stunt man and actor. I have a two and a half year old son named Tristan, and we're expecting a little girl on September 3rd (right in the middle of this campaign!). What I am saying is, the last thing I want to do is tarnish my reputation and embarrass myself, my family and everyone who has vouched for me on this, by not following through for my supporters. I've worked to long and hard to throw this project away, or give it a bad name.
THANK YOU TO OUR PLEDGERS AND...
FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT!
IF YOU WANT TO SEE THIS PROJECT COME TO LIFE AS MUCH AS WE DO, REMEMBER TO SPREAD THE WORD ON FACEBOOK AND TWITTER! ALOHA.

WEATHER - On the island of Oahu, the weather is always changing. Especially during the month of February, rain, wind, huge waves, etc. However, all of our crew members have been working on the island for years and have adapted/created ways to deal with the constantly evolving elements. Not only have we created tools that help assist in such an environment, Rocket Club was written with this in mind. Our script and shoot schedule allows us room to adjust days and work around such obstacles.
($10,000 'Actor' pledge level and $1000 pledgers must not be SAG, SAG-Aftra members)
