This short film follows the guy who doesn't usually get followed in the story. That guy in the background that you can barely see. What's he up to? Is he happy to be there?
In a gang of bad guys the story usually will follow the hero or the kingpin or an up-and-comer or a down-and-outer. When the gang messes up, the boss always kills one of his own men to show the rest of the gang that he means business. That guy is called Bad Guy #2. This movie follows the guy who just got promoted to that dead end job. Does he want it? How long will he live before the boss makes an example out of him too? What does his wife think? Is that a cat? All this and more will be answered in the short film, Bad Guy #2.
I'm a big fan of the horror comedy genre. And while this won't be attempting to be scary it will be taking the gore element from the horror genre. The Kingpin is driven by violence and crazy ways of killing. He encourages his gang to be inventive with their kills. It will be the type of over the top gore that made me laugh in movies like Evil Dead 2 or Dead Alive.
Another great thing about those types of movies is their use of practical effects. And we are really looking forward to doing all the effects of this short film practical. There's gonna be a gnarly face melt in this.
