Without a doubt, this is the most ambitious project any of us have ever taken on. To make it possible, we have assembled a team of students and recent graduates with a wide range of experience from the University of Michigan.
Our director Josh Buoy and cinematographer Steve Coffey are co-founders of Filmic Productions (filmicproductions.com), the first student-led creative agency at the University of Michigan. Over the years, they have produced award winning commercials, PSAs, and short films – including "The Letter M", "Explore A2", and "The Michigan Transportation Musical."
Nick Skardarasy, our film's lead actor and co-screenwriter, is a recent graduate of the University of Michigan's School of Music, Theatre and Dance, where he has appeared in numerous on-screen productions. Additionally, much of the cast and crew spent the first part of the year finishing their short film "Open House" which is set to debut this summer at the Traverse City Film Festival.
Most than just believing in our story, we see this film as a chance to prove ourselves as artists and forge our own path in the industry. Please Wait to Be Seated represents an opportunity to create a feature film before many of us even graduate from college. By donating to our film, you are showing your support for both our education and future careers – and for that we could not be more thankful.
You have our promise that we will do whatever it takes to tell the story of Zak Sparks in the best way we know how.

Risks and challenges
One of the biggest challenges that we face is the short production schedule. We plan to shoot the entire film nearly non-stop throughout June. This gives us only a few weeks to lock down locations, cast actors, and finalize the script. As students this is nothing new to us as every semester we meet the demands of school while managing to create a variety of films and very tight deadlines. Shooting during summer gives us more time and allows us to focus all our energies on creating this film.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
