This price-spec comparison table shows the enormous advantage the IvoryBoard has over our major competitors currently in the market. While the IvoryBoard matches or betters the specs of other boards on the market, it sells for approximately a third of the price right now on this campaign. Not bad.
To ensure our riders are safe on our board we have included several safety features. The first of which is integrating ‘Low’ and ‘High’ power settings to allow users to ride based on their skill level by adjusting the board’s acceleration and speed. Next, we integrated front lights so that you can have a clear view at night and stay visible to cars. We then equipped the board with regenerative braking which allows for descents to be safely navigated as well as for riders to safely travel alongside other vehicles. Finally, the board was designed to be water resistant meaning you can ride it knowing that a wet patch or a bit of rain won’t ruin it.
We wanted the IvoryBoard to work exactly like a standard longboard when powered off, so we built the motors directly into the wheels rather than using a belt system. This hub motor design allowed us to create a streamlined, efficient and frictionless ride that glides freely like a normal skateboard. This means that if the board runs out of power or you just feel like going old school, you can simply push it like a standard longboard for a smooth ride.
Although the app for the board is currently in development, it still requires thorough testing to ensure its safety as well as approval from the Android and Apple app stores. As such, the application will become available to our users within 6 months of the end of our Kickstarter campaign.
Our remote was designed with two main aspects in mind, safety and usability. The remote includes a finger hold making it extremely easy to hold and reducing the chances of it being dropped mid-ride and possibly causing a crash. To allow all level users to enjoy the IvoryBoard safely, we’ve integrating two power settings into the remote. Low: soft acceleration and limited top speed. High: full acceleration and top speed.
The removable batteries were designed to be easily snapped in and out allowing for the board’s range to be easily increased with spare batteries on hand. The removable batteries were designed for durability, letting you concentrate on riding the board rather than maintaining it.
By teaming up with Onan, we have managed to create an upgraded, custom, motor kit for our boards that give it its formidable performance and reliability.

For some countries we offer free shipping including customs and tax at no extra charge, however, for other locations, customers are responsible for the shipping cost, custom and tax
United States, Australia and Canada will all be shipped to for no extra charge.
For all other countries, contact us for details on shipping costs. If enough orders are made from another country by the end of the campaign, no surcharge will be applied to boards shipped to those countries.

Risks and challenges
At IvoryBoards, we wanted to get everything set up and ready before posting on Kickstarter to ensure that our supporters can get their hands on an IvoryBoard as soon as possible. Although we are optimistic about our shipping date, going into full-scale production is no easy task which may cause some delays in the estimated shipping time.
App store approval for our mobile app may take longer than expected and as such delays in the app release date are possible.
Overall, nearly all aspects of the business have been sorted out before we posted on Kickstarter making this a relatively risk-free project :)
