'Doctrine of Song' is the new full-length album from UK singer/songwriter Tracey Browne.
Following on from 2012's 'Everyone Is Ordinary', I am back in the studio with the dream team - producers Nigel Stonier (Thea Gilmore) and Seadna McPhail (Badly Drawn Boy) for a new solo album.
Heading down a more 'indie' direction, the opening track is an electric, baritone-guitar led rocker, reminiscent of early Alanis Morissette (the superb but under-rated Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie era).
Songs with piano as the lead instrument, finally bringing it to the fore.
Stories of friends, family and the dearly departed.
Music to bring us together in these times of division.
The album is around 75% recorded - and it is sounding incredible so far. We estimate to have it mixed in May/June and ready for pressing over the summer, for a September release. If you pledge, you will receive it the moment it is pressed.
Join me on this journey - you will not be disappointed.
Risks and challenges
The album is already well on its way - I don't forsee any particular challenges other than the sometimes inevitable delays in vinyl pressing, depending on when the next record store day falls!
I successfully funded and produced a similar project in 2014 with 'East by North West', my duo album with Raevennan Husbandes. We had great feedback from that and the set-up was essentially the same.
If there are any delays in pressing I will keep you updated - the digital downloads will be guaranteed to be available from the date of mastering so you will be able to hear the album as soon as it is ready.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
